Toy Guns Pulled From Costume Shop Shelves |
|
Thousands of toy guns that were for sale in costume and novelty shops in New York state have been removed as part of a settlement between the state attorney general's office and two national wholesalers, the New York Times reported Dec. 20. Attorney General Eliot Spitzer had accused the wholesalers of distributing 12,000 toy guns in 2001 in violation of a state law which previously had applied only to retailers. New York State bans the sale of toy guns in stores unless they have a permanent orange stripe running down both sides of the barrel. Without admitting wrongdoing, Rubie's Costumes Co. agreed to pay $27,000 in civil penalties and costs and Franco American Novelty Co. agreed to pay $10,000. Spitzer said that toy guns pose a public danger because police sometimes mistake them for the real thing. In 1997, he said, four people were killed and a child was seriously injured when police thought toy guns were real ones. |

Was his hair perfect? Now that you mention it..yeah. I have never noticed before. He was GOOFBALL ( unintentional) being interviewed. He had trouble keeping up with Letterman.

toy guns pose a public danger because police sometimes mistake them for the real thingAnd we're supposed to ONLY trust the police with guns. Maybe we should give them toys as well. That way nobody gets hurt.

Spitzer said that toy guns pose a public danger because police sometimes mistake them for the real thing. Maybe New York needs to find REAL police. What a bunch of idiots!

The only news here is that Spitzer hates guns. (Oops... that's not news either... oh well).

Without admitting wrongdoing, Rubie's Costumes Co. agreed to pay $27,000 in civil penalties and costs and Franco American Novelty Co. agreed to pay $10,000.This kind of garbage ticks me off these companys instead of standing up for thier rights and the rights of thier costumers caves in and and gives the goverment more power that they dont have or deserve to save a few dollars in legal expenses. They did nothing illegal and instead of sueing the state A.G, and calling for his resignation are giving him money. thats B.S. and its p*^&sies like this that are the reason the goverment in new york and else where is out of control because the whores in goverment know all they have to do to a corparation is shake thie r fingers in the c.e.o.s faces and say BOO and the ceos will turn tail and run away crying.
