GALLUP NEWS SERVICE

PRINCETON, NJ -- President George W. Bush tops Gallup's annual survey of the "most admired man" for the fourth year in a row. Hillary Clinton leads the most admired woman list, with Oprah Winfrey close behind. Republicans and Democrats differ significantly in their views of this year's most admirable men and women. Republicans overwhelmingly say the president is the most admired man, and also name first lady Laura Bush and national security adviser Condoleezza Rice as the most admired women. Democrats, meanwhile, are most likely to mention Bill and Hillary Clinton as the most admired man and woman.

Most Admired Men

Nearly one in four Americans name George W. Bush, without prompting, as the most admired man this year, according to the Dec. 17-19 CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll. Former President Bill Clinton, who recently underwent a quadruple bypass and opened his presidential library in Little Rock, Ark., comes in second place, with 6% of respondents mentioning him. Rounding out the top five most admired this year are Secretary of State Colin Powell, at 5%, former President Jimmy Carter, at 4%, and the Rev. Billy Graham, at 3%.

The naysayers who think Hillary won't be formidable in '08 are fooling themselves. She has spent the last 4 years remaking her image, and she will continue to do so.

Pubbies need to be grooming a superstar now to face her. Otherwise, she will be electable in '08. If you thought the msm covered over Kerry's errs and ills, just wait until you see them remake Hillary into St. Hillary of Ark.

"Democrats, meanwhile, are most likely to mention Bill and Hillary Clinton as the most admired man and woman."

If this is what Democrats admire it is no small wonder the party is in trouble.

Thank you. That's what I've been saying for a while now. She is going to win the Senate in 2006 again because Rudy won't want to run for Senate and then with another term under her belt she won't be a Jr. Senator anymore and will be able to run for president in 2008 without having to promise to complete her term. And when she runs she will not give up her Senate seat because she doesn't want to give up any power she has.

Its called playing the victim. What did she do during the Monica Scandal??? She played the victim. What did she do during White Water and the other scandals??? She played the victim of the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy". She's good at it and the American public eats it up!

You know...the dems held onto the kennedy name as if it was a life support system which to them it was. Now they are doing the same thing with the clintins cause the kennedy name is not what it used to be although they still cling to teddy boy. I've come to the conclusion the dems need a name to lean on. First the kennedys and now the clintins. There is not one thing most admired about hilleree clintin in this whole world much less her pathetic husband. The dem/libs are pathetic too. Nver learned to take the training wheels (kennedy/clintin) off their bikes. Without those wheels...they show what they are made of and that's not much. They've already shown how they cna fall off their bike in the last Presidential election when W won.

No need to choose. They are both strong, intelligent, yet feminine women. That's the problem with this world...always putting someone in competition with someone else. I would venture to say Pres Bush and Laura Bush and Condi and the many others named (excepting the needy clintins) could care less about who is the most admired. They don't live by those labels. They are who they are and are content and satisfied with whom they are.

Well if you look at the Democrat politicians they only have John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton to look up to. Who else is there? And the Democrat politicians they have out now have no star power - watching them is like watching paint dry. Even when Hillary is out there speaking WE FREEPERS REACT TO HER! Granted, its usually with disgust and gagging but we still react! We don't do that with other Democrats - we tend to snore when they are speaking, but the Clintons even get a reaction out of us! The only ones left are the Clintons who have star power and the Dems think "why not put Hillary out there".

oh yes, they call the clintins star power. Makes me laugh especially when they say they have rock star status. Oh yea, that's a big thing to be proud of too. Hilleree is a shrieker...she's not a speaker. She can speak under controlled events but...wait till she loses her temper and shrieks like banshee. If that's what the dems calls star power then they are even more pathetic and stupid than I thought. the dems are slipping in name powwer. They are drowning in their own ignorance and fantasy. They are so old hat. Stuffy, moldy, moth ball ridden and stale. Phew! Star power, eh? I think NOT.

I didn't say I admired her

I said ... " she does amaze me on how she can get away with the things she does"

There is a difference

pardon me I mis read that part. However, don't be amazed by the things she gets away with. The FBI files have always been a mystery. If you had the FBI files you would get away with a lot too.

This is a hostess, that panders to gay voters and promises them access to the White House and a great big elegant state ball after the Clinton election, only to find the Clinton dream team, not at home the night of the ball and the servants serving gay guests in blue surgical gloves, and yet this is an admired woman?

Gallup has run out of things to pull legs?
I thought that liberals are not supposed to rate things and compete, it makes us feel bad. We should be all equal, no competition, just nice stupid sheeple.
