Welcome to a new era in the Georgia Legislature where the focus will turn to strengthening traditional families, increasing personal responsibility, reducing government, and cutting taxes.
If it sounds like a Republican agenda, there's a reason. Republicans have taken over the statehouse after 130 years of Democratic domination. When the new legislative session opens Jan. 10, Republicans will be running the show.

The sad reality is that any cuts in spending, especially for social programs, have to be gentle and gradual or they will result in a lot of human suffering. Once caught in the trap, it can be difficult to be weaned back into usefulness. It needs to be done, but it will take long-term diligence and strength. I'm not hopeful.
When tax-and-spend Leftist succeed in establishing a new entitlement program, they make it as difficult as possible to dismantle. That's part of their Marxist strategy.
Folks, after 130 years of yellow dog democrats and social liberals (where did you think they got Cynthia M.?) do you think there might be a little straightening out to do?
