by Joseph Carroll

GALLUP NEWS SERVICE

PRINCETON, NJ -- President George W. Bush tops Gallup's annual survey of the "most admired man" for the fourth year in a row. Hillary Clinton leads the most admired woman list, with Oprah Winfrey close behind. Republicans and Democrats differ significantly in their views of this year's most admirable men and women. Republicans overwhelmingly say the president is the most admired man, and also name first lady Laura Bush and national security adviser Condoleezza Rice as the most admired women. Democrats, meanwhile, are most likely to mention Bill and Hillary Clinton as the most admired man and woman.

Do you avoid spelling it "left" as a political statement, or do you simply dislike adverbs such as "correctly"?

Barbara Bush and Condi split the vote. It's a tough call, choosing between them.

The above is the correct title of the article. Yours suggests that it was a worldwide poll, rather than a US poll.

Those on the right side -- Dubya, Powell, Billy Graham and the Pope -- get 34 percent while those who lean to the left -- Slick, Jimmah, Kerry and Mandela -- get 14 percent.

And it's probably fair to to put Blair and Gates with the conservatives though they are not to bring the total to 37 percent.

Now, the among the ladies, lefties -- Hillary, Oprah, Albright and Angelou -- are most admired by 26 percent, while more or less righties -- Laura, Condi, Maggie, Babs, Nancy and the Queen -- are most admired by 22 percent. Martha Stewart got 1 percent and I'm not sure what catagory she belongs -- again a lib but those admiring her are probably not.

I love Bill & Hill, Since they came on the national scene there has been a complete realignment of power from the Democrats to the Republicans which continues to this day.

What really baffles me is why is she so admired?

The answer is simple. She has a good eye and a strong right arm at throwing ashtrays at her husband. And, rumor has it, that she is good at splitting and spitting hairs with her girfriends. She definitely has the gay/lesbian voters sewn up, and in her carpet-bag.

What would Hillary be admired for?

Trying to jail the travel office employees with false charges?
Blaming conservatives for a conspiracy against her husband that was false regarding adulterey that were in fact true, that she knew of and lied about?
Was it her attempt to socialize medicine?
Was it her recent speech where she said she was going to take things from us all (taxes increased up the yin yang)?

I don't get it, what is to admire?

Maybe how she stuck by Blowjob Bill through thick and thin, just guessing on this one. Which would also explain why Clinton got slaughtered by Bush 23% to 6%. That's a little saga that hit the White House and the country hard American people still remember it well.

she is a celebrity. none of those policy issues matter to people who are uninformed, or generally star struck. americans have very low ethical standards for celebrities, look at the idiots bringing their kids to see Michael Jackson at Neverland. Hillary will run for president as a "celebrity" more then anything else.
