RIYADH (AFP) - A Yemeni considered to be closely linked to terror chief Osama bin Laden was one of seven militants killed in Wednesday's shootout with Saudi security forces in Riyadh, a security source told AFP.
"Ibrahim Ahmad Abdel Majeed al-Reemy, a Yemeni national, was among the seven militants killed on Wednesday evening," the source said
Reemy, who does not figure on the Saudi kingdom's most-wanted list, is a "big shot in Al-Qaeda and is believed to be the link between the organisation in Saudi Arabia and bin Laden himself," the source said.
Wednesday's shootout took place after two car bombings in the capital against major security sites that reportedly killed two people.

Would these happen to be ones that were involved in the USS COLE bombing and were let go?

I can't find anything about this guy. Anyone else have anything? Alternate spelling on the last name may be Rimi.
Let me know if you want on/off the terrorist roundup ping list. Terrorist Scorecard

Check this out:
Fourteen militants allegedly involved in an attack on a French oil tanker, including a man sought by the United States, refused to enter pleas Saturday as their trial began under tight security.

Another defendant, Qassim al-Rimi, acknowledged that he was assigned to monitor the U.S. embassy in San'a.
Possibly not the same guy but there may be a family relation.

Zubayr al Rimi was one of al-Ghamdi's deputies. He's been worm food for a bit though.

This is a big one.
Al Qaeda big shot killed.
He is not on the Saudi wanted list.......he is the liaison between the Saudi AQ and the home office and Bin Laden himself.

I'd like to believe they are getting thin on manpower.
Well, a guy can dream anyway.

The other day they it was reported that we caught the "missing link" between Al Qaeda and Iraq.
Now the Saudis got the missing link between Al Qaeda and Yemen.
If true, this is all very good. Still, they keep coming.

If true, this is all very good. Still, they keep coming. Which is a good thing. Like roaches descending upon a Roach Motel.
