Millions die of malaria each year because over-sensitive animal lovers distort the science and won't allow DDT to be sprayed.

Millions of babies are flushed down the drain in abortions each year.

Where is your empathy and sanctimony for these victims?

Stop blubbering. Life is a risk.

Well said. Most of this aid whining is to enrich politicos and UN functionaries.

We should not aid Islamic nations we are really at war with. We need them as weak as possible.

We are being stupid.

On the good side, India is handling its own problems, unlike Thailand which doesn't seem to have 5000 body bags in stock.

It was not that major an event except in Indonesia.

Thailand really does not need our help. They are just out for as much aid as they can extract from over sympathetic loonies.

The only ones that need our help are the Islamic Sumatrans, who have been killing Christians in a genocidal purge. Now, they will not have as much ability to do that and perhaps the Christians can fill in this empty area.

God works in ways we do not understand.

A lot of the threads today seem quite ugly. I'm hoping people are just hung over. There are times when this is not a very uplifting site to visit.

To suggest that the catastrophe, "really not a very major event except in Sumatra" makes me think that the poster is a "troll" and/or has hit the bottle or bong too early this morning.

I suggest you are not facing reality. Only a thin strip of coast was affected in most of these countries. In Phukett (an apt name) people were partying in bars a few yards from the destruction.

In many of the beaches in Thailand, tourists were out sun-bathing in force.

But go ahead, give all your money to the Red Cross. They will eventually use it to pay their communist staff and might actually help someone who deserves it.

What's ugly is jeopardizing our own people for the sake of our enemies.

For someone who is so concerned that people remember 911, you seem to have forgotten.

We are at war right now and cannot be diverting assets to help our enemies.

Notice the comments that have been removed for an idea of what is appropriate commentary and what is not.

I don't recall any military operations being affected by diverting a task force to the Indian Ocean. Perhaps you could show me how this is affecting our abilities in Iraq?

I'll rephrase my comments to you since you hit the abuse button on me.

I find your opinion of not giving aid to affected nations because they are muslim to be racist and bigoted.

We are fighting a global war on terror. Some of the Navy ships, notably the Abraham Lincoln carrier group was supposed to relieve another group so it could go home for a while.

Our resources are already stretched fighting this war and this does not help. We should have already gone into Syria and Iran by now.

I gave you sufficient warning that you were committing abuse.

You still are. I don't see how abusing a Vietnam combat veteran who fought for your freedom, who is now a Christian minister makes you any more a man.

I am telling you things you should consider before you and people like you weaken our position so much that the terrorists are able to detonate a nuclear device in the U.S. and kill millions of us.

Consider this a tsunami warning of a sort. The terrorists are more dangerous than any tsunami. It is only the aggressive actions of Pres. Bush and our military that have prevented a holocaust here.

Do you think the Islamic countries would give one damn if we were nuked?

We spend 500 billion a year to defend the world. That is a good amount of "charity", wouldn't you say?

I find your claim of being a "Christian Minister" laughable.

It's my opinion that you are a troll taking delight in leaving a trail of bigoted commentary on this site and trying to camoflauge it with patriotism.

You are a DU'er IMO.

Cry to the mods with that one.
