what is that?
Nevertheless, I saw that you were posting after midnight last night. You sure have staying power, I'll give you that! ;-)
No, no. That's just what he's been telling me and a couple of others all day. ;-) But it would be very fitting!
Well, I feel a little better knowing he didn't actually put that there, lol.
Okay, you're right, this is not an argument - this is a forum for ideas & opinions. YES - YES - YES - I agree with you that this is most assuredly a MAJOR disaster. It will go down in the history books as such. It was a flippant remark I think, but I understood right off what he meant. Death is not a minor event - whether it involves a terrorist or an unborn baby, whether it is one person or hundreds of thousands of people. I think what he was meaning is that everyone else will clean up relatively quickly, the resorts are no doubt insured & the more prosperous countries can take care of it on their own, for the most part. The place that it is a very major event, the hardest hit place was Sumatra - this is where the most people died & because of their backward Islamic Law Society, they don't have the emergency resources that some of the other countries do. The people can blame their own government for that & maybe they will come around & do so. Let's all pray for that. We do have a chance now to minister to these people, especially the children before they become too hardened & brainwashed.
I am wondering about all those people on all those far away and isolated islands and isolated coastal lines though. There are thousands of miles of coast. There still is a lot we don't know, and I'm not sure I want to know it. But it's been nice talking with you.
I gotta go watch my football team in the Fiesta Bowl!
Be well!
Thank you - I hope your football team wins! It has been a great thread, I'm going to go eat supper. Happy New Year!
"I am wondering about all those people on all those far away and isolated islands and isolated coastal lines though. "
The Navy helos arrived today in Bandeh Aceh. They took a hundred mile trip down the coast. They could only find about 40 or 50 people in one little hamlet. The rest of the towns were just gone.
They said it looked like an atomic bomb hit them.
From the sounds of things, there will not be that much relief work necessary.
I fell asleep at 9pm and woke up at midnight. I had my usual exciting New Years Party (nap).
Well the Australian navy is active in Indonesia ,while the Indian navy & coast guard has been deployed to Sri Lanka & the Maldives & a hospital ship has been sent to Indonesia. The Japanese MSDF is also planning to deploy to Indonesia.
Thank you backhoe for the LINK and Happy New Year to you and yours.
Thank you for the post kingu.
Have a good year, you are a very interesting guy.
Peace........... through superior firepower.)
;-)
I see, the key words are "is planning".
Meanwhile due to future planning and disorganization, people are dying unnecessarily or is it just part of human nature to be stumbling over each other due to the future words "is planning"?
Thank you for your post.
**grin**
Check out my page and thanks for the suggestion.

"Japan, which has already dispatched two naval destroyers and a supply ship to waters off Thailand, is also in the midst of deploying additional troops to aid in rescue operations, officials said in Tokyo. "
