Our rights are God given. Even in the absence of our Constitition and BOR, we would still have them. Brits have inalienable rights too. Shocking, but true!
What they actually want is for only government officials to have access to weapons or authorization to use them. It is all part of the Fabian Socialist scheme to transfer all power to government.

We have this sort of nonsense in our public schools regarding "weapons." It's called zero tolerance. Kids can be expelled for bringing in a plastic picnic knife from home -- or drawing a picture of a gun (guns don't belong in school doncha know). Or pretending the grape juice brought in the cafeteria is a fine red wine. Or being caught with asprin or Midol -- a serious drug crime.
Just pull the lever and the 16-ton weight will fall on top of him.

This concerns the american warning about my country (Great Britain) being taken over by the muslim minority of the population.
As a non-muslim british citizen I have taken the warning seriously and after analysing the situation in great detail I have devised a plan that should keep me safe.
It is primarily based upon the mad assumption that one muslim man does not have the strength of 50 non-muslim men. Also I maddly assume that many young british muslim men just want jobs and families and quite like democracy like everyone else.
The very essence of Socialism. Everyone is equal, so all standards are reduced to the absolute lowest common denominator. The life of all citizens is worth no more than that of the most vicious criminal among them.

Uh, oh. You may have planted the seeds of the next attempt by the social engineers to address the problem of a crime by banning possession of the weapon of choice used to commit it. The weapon of choice in the commission of rape is, is, ummmm, well... So will possession of "that" be outlawed next in the hopes of reducing the incidence of rape? Oh, nooooo...
Not trying to trivialize the violent crime of rape. Just showing that banning possession of "things" to solve a problem of crime leads to somewhat absurd (and undesirable) consequences.
That brings up the question of what are they doing?
They know that improvised weapons can be made easily, such as a screwdriver can be sharpened to make a perfect dagger, (for that matter it would do pretty well unsharpened).
I think the answer is they want to disarm the great majority of the population and since total disarmament is impossible, they want to keep the most effective weapons out of the hands of the peasants and serfs.
The Russian revolution scared the crap out of the British muckety mucks. That is why they passed the 1919 gun control law. I greatly admire Winston Churchill but he was in on it too, and for the same reason. BTW Churchill loved guns and shooting so he probably never would have gone to the extremes we see today in Britain.
It is as simple as this. The whole idea of weapons control is to keep those who are in power, in power.
