Seems nobody remembers that is exactly what our Afghan allies were doing with that group of opponents they rounded up, early in the conflict, at that fortification (can't remember the name) where the U.S. CIA guy was killed - one of our first casualties.
We could learn from them.
And after learning what we can from them, we should release them -
from 10,000 feet or so.
True. I don't have any doubt that our idea of who the terrorists are is focused, limited, and targeted to people who define the word .
The response from the 'rats would likely be - "Oh? Well, how about bombings of abortion clinics? How about murdered doctors? How about X number of people killed by gun violence this year alone?"
Janet Reno's willingness to tar abortion protesters with RICO is the kind of abuse I have in mind.
I'm all for locking bad guys away for life, but you should have evidence to do it. Giving anyone a life sentence when you've got nothing on them is too much power. People change and are replaced but laws stay the same, and sooner or later someone's going to abuse a law like that, it's inevitable.
He's right-it is a bad idea.
As soon as they stop providing useful information, they should be killed.
We're in a war... indefinitely long, yes, but it's not right to keep these people forever if it can at all be helped.
