Saudi Student Was Mess Tent Suicide Bomber

12:19pm (UK) Saudi Student Was Mess Tent Suicide Bomber

The suicide bomber who killed 22 people when he blew himself up in a US army mess tent the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, was a Saudi medical student, an Arab newspaper reported today.

Saudi-owned Asharq Al-Awsat identified him as 20-year-old Ahmed Said Ahmed al-Ghamdi, citing friends of the man’s father.

The friends said members of an Iraqi resistance group contacted al-Ghamdi’s father to tell him his son was the suicide bomber who carried out the December 21 attack, the deadliest on an American installation in Iraq.

US officials have said their investigation indicates the bomber was dressed in an Iraqi military uniform – but was not an Iraqi soldier – when he slipped into a mess tent packed with soldiers eating lunch in northern Iraq.

The father refused to discuss the suicide bombing, but told the newspaper his son had gone to Iraq to fight the Americans and had died there.

The paper did not name the Iraqi resistance group. But Ansar al-Sunnah, a radical Islamic Iraqi group that has been active in northern Iraq, claimed responsibility for the mess tent attack.

ME types never used to mean anything either positive or negative to me, until now. You cannot now know for certain that even your ME doctor, an immigrant US citizen, does not hate this country and wish to destroy it.

At some point we need to get to that nation and make a permanent change.

You can't have some leaders say they are against terror and other parts for it, funding it and motivating it.

If 40% of their country is behind this type of stuff, then frankly, 40% need to be killed off.

Seems Muslim is a "cult", not a religion.
They need to be handled as such until the cult can change it's worship practice as to no produce terrorists.

Agree. Brainwashing from birth to death isn't a religion. Imagine all those people - they're nothing but animals now - grieving over Arafart's death. The animal who made their lives the living hell they seem to permanently reside in was revered and mourned throughout the ME. Unbelievable.

And that's from June of 2003.

Somebody needs to do some serious tune-up work on that clan.

I hate to draw a Vietnam analogy, but this is eerily similar to what happened there. The same people who would work for you and pretend to be friendly, would also kill you without batting an eye. Word to the wise -- don't trust any Middle Easterners -- you might lose your head.

"SA is a viper pit."

Yeah, and a knotty one. The current regime supplies our oil but can only stay legit in the eyes of its people by brainwashing them with this extreme Wahabism [sp?] form of Islam and essentially paying off trouble makers to kick up a fuss elsewhere. They are our ally and our enemy...but also Bin Laden's ally and enemy.

We have backed ourselves into a nasty corner with this one, ostensibly promoting democracy in the MEast but sucking up to one of the most repressive regimes in the region and thereby enflaming the clued-up members of the population against us. I mean, you've got to support Saudis who are against their govt, who want to overthrow it and replace it with something else, right? Sooner or later a repressed population fights back. But then where does that leave us?

Yeah, a simmering nasty alright.

Machiavelli had much to say in favor of just such an approach. But the federal government in the 21st century just cannot carry out such a tactic. It's just "too medieval." Now, if our friends the Saudis wanted to employ such a solution, that would be up to them.

I'm not saying 60% of the people aren't non-violent, but it is a fact that a large portion of their population has evil intent regarding non-Muslims and we can't turn a blind eye to that.

They formed their own weird dogma with the crazy cult leader Mohammad and have been trouble on some level ever since.

I wouldn't care if they worshiped toilet paper with Hillary on them as long as they went about their lives in peace without bothering others, but they tend to have large populations come forth from their cult that act like Nazis in heat for genocide of non-radical Muslims and we can't live with that.

This book should be required reading if you want to understand the WOT.

Read online for free

Excerpt-----
So as not to be accused of unfairly singling out a less-than-peaceful surah from the Qur’an, listen to how Allah recruits suicide bombers in the 4th surah: “Those who barter their life in this world for the next should fight in the way of Allah; whether he is killed or victorious, a glorious reward awaits.” “Urge the believers to fight…to keep back the might of the Infidels.” “Seize them and kill them wherever they are.” “Muslims who sit idle are not equal to those who fight in Allah’s Cause with their wealth and lives. Allah has exalted those who fight for Islam.”
The Islamic Sira proclaims: Ishaq:587 “Our onslaught will not be a weak faltering affair. We shall fight as long as we live. We will fight until you turn to Islam, humbly seeking refuge. We will fight not caring whom we meet. We will fight whether we destroy ancient holdings or newly gotten gains. We have mutilated every opponent. We have driven them violently before us at the command of Allah and Islam. We will fight until our religion is established. And we will plunder them, for they must suffer disgrace.”
Need more proof? Are the deeds of the most respected Qur’anic scholar, the words of the most illustrious Islamic terrorist, and the scripture readings of the most revered imams insufficient? After all, a senior Saudi sheik said we shouldn’t listen to bin Laden because he was an “unlicensed cleric.” Never mind that popularity polls show bin Laden’s approval rating at seventy-five percent among Muslims—much higher than any other cleric or leader.
Then consider this quote from the Saudi ruling family’s favorite imam, al Buraik. He’s not only licensed, he’s atop the pecking order. Prior to a telethon hosted to enrich the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, this esteemed cleric said, “I am against America. She is the root of all evils and wickedness on earth. Muslims, don’t take Jews and Christians as allies. Muslim brothers in Palestine, do not have any mercy or compassion on them, their blood, their money, or their flesh. Their women are yours to take, legitimately. Allah made them yours. Why don’t you enslave their women? Why don’t you wage jihad? Why don’t you pillage them?”
Do you suppose the licensed Saudi cleric was corrupting Islam too? Sorry. It’s Allah who commands Muslims not to befriend Christians and Jews, for he wants them killed so he can use their bodies to stoke hell’s fires. Qur’an 5:51 “O believers, do not hold Jews and Christians as your allies. They are allies of one another; and anyone who makes them his friends is one of them.” Qur’an 2:10 “As for those who deny Islam...they shall be the faggots for the Fire of Hell.” Islam’s god is a spirit of an entirely different color. Ishaq:327 “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’” The Saudi imam has correctly interpreted Islam’s message. Bukhari:V5B59N512 “The Prophet had their men killed, their children and woman taken captive.” Qur’an 33:26 “Allah made the Jews leave their homes by terrorizing them so that you killed some and made many captive. And He made you inherit their lands, their homes, and their wealth. He gave you a country you had not traversed before.”
The Islamic warlords who rule Saudi Arabia were enthroned by the British, by way of reward. The Brits bribed them to fight against their Muslim brethren, the Ottoman Turks, in World War I. Today, the Saudi dictators thank the West by manufacturing the terrorists who kill us. It’s hardly a coincidence that eighty percent of the 9/11 suicide bombers were trained in the kingdom that gave birth to Islam. Yet the Fahd princes meet with our president and protest incessantly to our media, professing that they and their religion are peace-loving. They are incensed when people blame them for the terror they have inspired. Forget for a moment that Muslim militancy is funded by the black ooze that flows from their sand—it’s what they teach that’s so devastating.
Eighty percent of the mosques in America and the West were built and are staffed by the Fahd warlords. They also provide their terrorist manufacturing facilities with their reading material. [Emphasis mine ~ OXEN] The official Qur’an for the English speaking market bears the stamp of the Fahd Foundation. In it, right below surah 2:190, the Qur’an’s first mention of Jihad, you’ll find this passage: “Jihad is holy fighting in Allah’s Cause with full force of numbers and weaponry. It is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars. By Jihad, Islam is established, Allah’s Word is made superior (which means only Allah has the right to be worshiped), and Islam is propagated. By abandoning Jihad, Islam is destroyed and Muslims fall into an inferior position; their honor is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish. Jihad is an obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim. He who tries to escape from this duty, dies with one of the qualities of a hypocrite.”

but they tend to have large populations come forth from their cult that act like Nazis in heat for genocide of non-radical Muslims and we can't live with that.

Because that's what Mohammed did. Mohammedanism is always spread by the sword.

In matters political Islam is a system of despotism at home and aggression abroad. The Prophet commanded absolute submission to the imâm. In no case was the sword to be raised against him. The rights of non-Moslem subjects are of the vaguest and most limited kind, and a religious war is a sacred duty whenever there is a chance of success against the "Infidel". Medieval and modern Mohammedan, especially Turkish, persecutions of both Jews and Christians are perhaps the best illustration of this fanatical religious and political spirit.

Extending that logic, if you look at the percentage of murderers, rapists, and drug dealers in this country and their nationality, you might find an even higher percentage of our criminals are American citizens. Therefore, the government we should be concerned with overthrowing is the American government.

The problem with your analysis is that it fails to distinguish between the nationality of the perps and governmental support for their actions. The Iraqi government under Hussein financially supported terrorist organizations and PROVIDED training facilities for them. The Afghan government under the Taliban provided financial and logistical support as well as facilities and protection. The Iranian government was and is a state sponsor of terrorism. While a seemingly large portion of the Saudi citizenry joins up with radical terrorist organizations, the Saudi government is not actively supporting these organizations with finances, logistical support, facilities and protection. (That is partially why these groups have taken to carrying out terrorist attacks against various targets in Saudi Arabia over the last couple of years.)

"the Saudi government is not actively supporting these organizations with finances"

So they say but then they said that in the past and we know they were lying then. Nearly 100% of Islamic extremism has been financed by the Saudi Royal family. They fund radical Mosques and Madras-es all over the world, from Indonesia and the Philippines to Pakistan, Europe, and the United States. They gave birth to Islamic fundamentalism.

I am not suggesting we go to war against Saudi Arabia. It would be nice to find an govt. backed up by it's people who had an army we could fight though. It's frustrating not knowing who the bad guys are.

CAIR one of the Saudis many lobby groups peddling influence and petrol dollars into U.S. politicans pockets...

Saudis funding the building of mosques, Islamic centers across our nation... and buying up large chunks of U.S. rural property for their 'summer camps'

Mecca and Medina are the wellspring for their hellish world view...which will continue to churn out terrorists faster than we can rid the world of them...

Fighting a war on terror while not addressing the source, not closing our borders and deporting all illegals and oto's....is futile if not criminal...

But no doubt there is a method to their madness....too bad it isnt in the founder's vision of America's interest

imo

Something like 15 out of 19 of the 9-11 terrorists were also Saudi.

None of them were Iraqi.

I still can't figure out why we didn't go after SA instead of Iraq.

Maybe we're hoping that the example of Iraq will make SA shape up, but that seems like a kind-of roundabout way to do it.

from first hand experience i will tell u this... and it will never be publish in the news or known to the general public, but the lack of security on the base camp got wrost on the days comming berfore the attack... before everyone and thier mother had to go throught the Civilian gate and get search... EVERYONE...Iraqi Military, civilian workers, contractors u name it, they got search by an iraqi soldier then searched again by US soldier, then Searched again before he left the gate to enter the F.O.B (Foward Opperating Base) days before the incident rules were changed and all Iraqi Miliray personel was excempt from entering the FOB through the civilain gate, they were authorized to enter via another gate as long as they entered in uniform.. all IDs are in arabic, and we do not have Translators available on daily basis, and if the iraqi soldier is enterin the FOb on a Military vehicle he is not searched.. 3 days after the rules were changed, the suicide happened. unfortunately we lost 2 from our battallion, had 24 injured. Never believe what the news say. allways get the right info or what really is happening.. But there is alot of good Iraqies out there, but Money talks and u all know the rest...
