12:19pm (UK) Saudi Student Was Mess Tent Suicide Bomber
The suicide bomber who killed 22 people when he blew himself up in a US army mess tent the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, was a Saudi medical student, an Arab newspaper reported today.
Saudi-owned Asharq Al-Awsat identified him as 20-year-old Ahmed Said Ahmed al-Ghamdi, citing friends of the mans father.
The friends said members of an Iraqi resistance group contacted al-Ghamdis father to tell him his son was the suicide bomber who carried out the December 21 attack, the deadliest on an American installation in Iraq.
US officials have said their investigation indicates the bomber was dressed in an Iraqi military uniform but was not an Iraqi soldier when he slipped into a mess tent packed with soldiers eating lunch in northern Iraq.
The father refused to discuss the suicide bombing, but told the newspaper his son had gone to Iraq to fight the Americans and had died there.
The paper did not name the Iraqi resistance group. But Ansar al-Sunnah, a radical Islamic Iraqi group that has been active in northern Iraq, claimed responsibility for the mess tent attack.
A Saudi? Who would have thunk it.
14 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudi...
Never trust a saudi...

Good post, thanks.
ME types never used to mean anything either positive or negative to me, until now. You cannot now know for certain that even your ME doctor, an immigrant US citizen, does not hate this country and wish to destroy it.
At some point we need to get to that nation and make a permanent change.
You can't have some leaders say they are against terror and other parts for it, funding it and motivating it.
If 40% of their country is behind this type of stuff, then frankly, 40% need to be killed off.
Seems Muslim is a "cult", not a religion.
They need to be handled as such until the cult can change it's worship practice as to no produce terrorists.
Agree. Brainwashing from birth to death isn't a religion. Imagine all those people - they're nothing but animals now - grieving over Arafart's death. The animal who made their lives the living hell they seem to permanently reside in was revered and mourned throughout the ME. Unbelievable.
But, but ---- the Saudi's are our friends.......aren't they????
And watch the lefties say that these are poor, uneducated people who are rising up in rebellion--just like they do with the Palestinian murderers.
Special Analysis: The Al-Ghamdi Family
And that's from June of 2003.
Somebody needs to do some serious tune-up work on that clan.
WHAT IF: We teamed up with Osama, turned out sights 180 degrees and marched to Mecca. Just wondering....
Maybe I am wrong and the father is innocent... but I think some "wet work" is called for ... kill the med student's entire family, and make it blindingly obvious that you committing jihad means you are dooming your entire immediate family.
One Nuclear bomb on Mecca should do the trick.
Yes. And islam is a religion of peace...
*sigh* Yup.
The question now is how did this bomb laden 20 year old Saudi student get into the mess tent in the middle of a US base? What about security?
The building isn't the problem, it seems to be with 40% or more of the people of the Muslim faith.
I hate to draw a Vietnam analogy, but this is eerily similar to what happened there. The same people who would work for you and pretend to be friendly, would also kill you without batting an eye. Word to the wise -- don't trust any Middle Easterners -- you might lose your head.
"How did a bomb laden 20 yr old get on base?" Good question. I understand it's common practice to allow non-military(indigenous) workers on base. At the very least u must assume the bad guys are using the op to gather intell.
"SA is a viper pit."
Yeah, and a knotty one. The current regime supplies our oil but can only stay legit in the eyes of its people by brainwashing them with this extreme Wahabism [sp?] form of Islam and essentially paying off trouble makers to kick up a fuss elsewhere. They are our ally and our enemy...but also Bin Laden's ally and enemy.
We have backed ourselves into a nasty corner with this one, ostensibly promoting democracy in the MEast but sucking up to one of the most repressive regimes in the region and thereby enflaming the clued-up members of the population against us. I mean, you've got to support Saudis who are against their govt, who want to overthrow it and replace it with something else, right? Sooner or later a repressed population fights back. But then where does that leave us?
Yeah, a simmering nasty alright.
I got banned for a week after 9/11 for calling Mohammedanism a militant religion. We can credit Osama with one thing at least: opening our eyes to the nature of Mohammedanism.
All I can say is "Duhhhhh!" How long does it take the US military and US government to understand that you can't trust any Arabs or muslims?
Congressman Billybob
I'm not saying 60% of the people aren't non-violent, but it is a fact that a large portion of their population has evil intent regarding non-Muslims and we can't turn a blind eye to that.
They formed their own weird dogma with the crazy cult leader Mohammad and have been trouble on some level ever since.
I wouldn't care if they worshiped toilet paper with Hillary on them as long as they went about their lives in peace without bothering others, but they tend to have large populations come forth from their cult that act like Nazis in heat for genocide of non-radical Muslims and we can't live with that.

Because that's what Mohammed did. Mohammedanism is always spread by the sword.
In matters political Islam is a system of despotism at home and aggression abroad. The Prophet commanded absolute submission to the imâm. In no case was the sword to be raised against him. The rights of non-Moslem subjects are of the vaguest and most limited kind, and a religious war is a sacred duty whenever there is a chance of success against the "Infidel". Medieval and modern Mohammedan, especially Turkish, persecutions of both Jews and Christians are perhaps the best illustration of this fanatical religious and political spirit.Catholic Encyclopedia (1911)
Waste his family? Naaaaaahhhhhhhhh. We don't have the guts to exact the kind of vengeance that makes these Islamo-pukes sit up and take notice.
Right, and the ones practicing that portion of their cult beliefs actively with terror need killing.
Extending that logic, if you look at the percentage of murderers, rapists, and drug dealers in this country and their nationality, you might find an even higher percentage of our criminals are American citizens. Therefore, the government we should be concerned with overthrowing is the American government.
The problem with your analysis is that it fails to distinguish between the nationality of the perps and governmental support for their actions. The Iraqi government under Hussein financially supported terrorist organizations and PROVIDED training facilities for them. The Afghan government under the Taliban provided financial and logistical support as well as facilities and protection. The Iranian government was and is a state sponsor of terrorism. While a seemingly large portion of the Saudi citizenry joins up with radical terrorist organizations, the Saudi government is not actively supporting these organizations with finances, logistical support, facilities and protection. (That is partially why these groups have taken to carrying out terrorist attacks against various targets in Saudi Arabia over the last couple of years.)
These Arabian death cultists would not be bragging about what their son did if they knew they would be paying the price for his mass murder.
What a crazy coincidence! In an even more bizarre coincidence 19 of 19 of the 9/11 hijackers were Muslim men of Middle Eastern extraction. I mean what are the odds, I mean they're all peaceful and religious and all...

And they recently patted down my 96 year old grandmother on a flight. Odd, the TSA tends to confuse her with young ME men.
Was she wearing a Grey Panthers sweatshirt? You can never be too sure. (Check my tagline.)
bump
CAIR one of the Saudis many lobby groups peddling influence and petrol dollars into U.S. politicans pockets...
Saudis funding the building of mosques, Islamic centers across our nation... and buying up large chunks of U.S. rural property for their 'summer camps'
Mecca and Medina are the wellspring for their hellish world view...which will continue to churn out terrorists faster than we can rid the world of them...
Fighting a war on terror while not addressing the source, not closing our borders and deporting all illegals and oto's....is futile if not criminal...
But no doubt there is a method to their madness....too bad it isnt in the founder's vision of America's interest
imo
Well, sur-prise, sur-prise, sur-prise!
Something like 15 out of 19 of the 9-11 terrorists were also Saudi.
None of them were Iraqi.
I still can't figure out why we didn't go after SA instead of Iraq.
Maybe we're hoping that the example of Iraq will make SA shape up, but that seems like a kind-of roundabout way to do it.
Saudi's sure like to concentrate on killing Americans. Perhaps Americans should return the favor.
>>I think some "wet work" is called for<<
Make it blindingly obvious that you committing jihad means you are dooming your entire family tree. Don't leave so much as a weed behind!
When you want to erradicate disease, you clean the entire area, not just one or two patients and a few utensils.
al Ghamdi ping.
Sure you're aware of it, but just in case.
Thank you for the ping jet.
Are the families still getting paid $25,000.00?
from first hand experience i will tell u this... and it will never be publish in the news or known to the general public, but the lack of security on the base camp got wrost on the days comming berfore the attack... before everyone and thier mother had to go throught the Civilian gate and get search... EVERYONE...Iraqi Military, civilian workers, contractors u name it, they got search by an iraqi soldier then searched again by US soldier, then Searched again before he left the gate to enter the F.O.B (Foward Opperating Base) days before the incident rules were changed and all Iraqi Miliray personel was excempt from entering the FOB through the civilain gate, they were authorized to enter via another gate as long as they entered in uniform.. all IDs are in arabic, and we do not have Translators available on daily basis, and if the iraqi soldier is enterin the FOb on a Military vehicle he is not searched.. 3 days after the rules were changed, the suicide happened. unfortunately we lost 2 from our battallion, had 24 injured. Never believe what the news say. allways get the right info or what really is happening.. But there is alot of good Iraqies out there, but Money talks and u all know the rest...
