MIAMI (AP)-Will Eisner, the artist who revolutionized comic books, helped pioneer the graphic novel and taught generations of soldiers how to maintain their equipment with the "Joe Dope" series, has died. He was 87.

Aw, damn. Before Stan Lee and Jack Kirby there was Will Eisner. And right at the same time as Kelly Freas, too. RIP, Spirit.

One of the seminal American comic artists. He also did training guides for the U.S. Army during WW2.

Before Stan Lee and Jack Kirby there was Will Eisner. And Eisner could draw rings around either of them.
