Actually, while Jimi played a right handed guitar that was "flipped over," it was strung correctly for a left hander. And that was one of the reasons he got such a distinctive sound. His strat has staggard poles on the pickups, which were set up for a normal right handed stringing, and the bass strings were longer between the nut and tuning pegs than on a standard strung strat.
However there was a blues player (Albert King, I think) that did play left handed with a standard right handed strung guitar.

I was searching the web for some "guitar faces" of Rick while playing, but I simply couldn't find any good ones... He's a great guitarist, and he's a lot of fun to watch on stage.
