In case you missed it, Bill O'Reilly officially welcomed Canadian viewers at the start of "O'Reilly Factor" tonight (January 6, 2005) at 11:00 p.m. Eastern.
With a large Canadian flag above his left shoulder, O'Reilly welcomed "Canadian viewers watching on Shaw Cable and Star Choice satellite".
His show is the #1 rated cable news show in the world, raking in 2.3 million viewers stateside. For perspective, this is more than double Larry King's 1.1 million viewers and Jon Stewart's 1.1 million viewers.

I don't much care for Bill, but at least the Canadians can hear something other than the ceaseless leftist bilge they would otherwise tune into.

No wonder Bill seemed to veer left of left in some respects. Wants that all important Canadian viewership.
Bill O. bugs me.

O'Reilly's good in that he spends a lot of time pushing certain conservative causes that most of the rest of the media ignores. For example, he's great when it comes to the ACLU, to activist judges, etc. I think it's good that Canada's getting Fox as an alternative voice.

O'Reilly officially welcomes Canadian viewersSo that's why he was speaking slower than normal.

I wonder if Alanis Morisette is going to start getting lewd phone calls.

I was watching Bill the other night. He looks like he's begging people to watch him. He was talking about how the Progressive movement (I still call it liberal) tries to label he and fox as (Conservative Crazies)
It's like he's trying to label himself as conservative, he wants people to come back. I don't think anyone could forgive him after he had that love session with Rather.

LOL. I've got lots of Canadian relatives from my mother's side of the family. Most are raging lefties due to the propaganda that the CBC spews. (CBC makes the BBC look, well, almost right-wing--it's that biased and anti-USA.)
However, I do have some Canuck relatives who are pretty conservative. They adore Don "Grapes" Cherry (a hockey institution known for his pro-American views) and Peter Worthington of the Toronto Star.

Precisely when I turned him off for good. That and the Swiftboat folks smear. Beg all he wants - done with him.
He has a martyr mentality coupled with an out of control self-aggrandising personality masking a serious paranoia flaw. He goes out of the way to defend himself against kooks to play the victim. Bill O. is no victim.

I don't get it.

and Peter Worthington of the Toronto Star.
Careful now, them's fightin' words. He is with the Toronto Sun, not the Star. The Star is a leftist mouthpiece.

Even if I watched TV, which I don't, I wouldn't watch O'Reilly if they paid me to.
It's bad enough when he comes on air after Michael Savage before I've realized I need to change the radio station.
But, at least we're getting something other than the leftish perspective here. Although Canada's so far gone I don't think Conservative media can help us now. We have too many bleeding hearts.

I'm used to these "slurs" by now... This post was meant more for the Canadian Freepers. We can now decide for ourselves whether we like Bill or Hannity, something we could not do before because of our censoring Gov't. (Sean Hannity comes in, but poorly on 770 WABC, so there is familiarity).

Maybe when Fox News Network is available on Canadian TV, I'll consider travelling there again. There's something about including al Jazeera to the exclusion of FNN that makes me want to not bother with the border crossing.

We had Fox News Network as of mid-December, but still no Al Jazeera.
