I guess, according to that nut, there's nothing like a good, old fashioned tidal wave to bring back the ambiance of a place......

He probably sleeps real well, too. Talk about ice for blood.

"There were hundreds of beach chairs out here. I prefer the sand."

Lot of compassion for the people sitting in the chairs.

"This whole area was littered with commercialism," said the 43-year-old from Maui, Hawaii. "There were hundreds of beach chairs out here. I prefer the sand."

Please help save the world and KILL YOURSELF now, Greg. If it wasn't for "commercialism" you wouldn't have been able to find air transportation from Maui to Thailand, you wouldn't have a nice hotel to go back to after your stupid jog, and there wouldn't have been a drooling reporter there to send out your shockingly moronic comments for the world to read.

This reminds me of the end of that shockingly moronic flick "The Day After Tomorrow" where after the massive disaster had killed tens of millions of people the astronauts in the clunky, expensive, and worthless International Space Station look down upon the earth as the storm clouds clear and say, "Wow! I've never seen the air so clear." I openly booed that comment in the movie theater, remarking that they happy for the apocalyptic holocaust so that they can perceive the air to be a bit cleaner. People like this are a threat to themselves and to other people and they should be heavily drugged and institutionalized for everyone's benefit...and, yes, that includes Al Gore.

Not only is he a self absorbed jerk. This is the same moron that would cry because of the lack of luxury for his personal desires.

Everyone is talking about it. It looks much better now," he said.

No, @$$hole, "everyone" isn't talking about it. MANY OF THEM ARE JUST A LITTLE BIT TOO DEAD TO BE TALKING ABOUT IT.

I truly detest ecoweenies.

Great, if not confusing, flick. Brad Pitt's best role.

Interesting you ignore the comment at the end from the Thai who says the same thing as the tourists. The first person to make comments about the beaches being 'cleaned up' were my Thai friends who were down in Phang Nga helping out. The loss of life is a tragedy but this is not.

Wait, why don't we just nuke all of Thailand and remove ALL traces of mankind. Would that be "natural" enough for you Moriel?

I saw a Discovery program the other day that theorized that it won't be long before the Earth reverses polarity. Massive destruction and lost of life will ensue. Humans might not have to worry about vaporizing each other; Mother Earth might do it for us!

Sounds to me like you have never been there.

You're right. I did spend some time in Koh Phangan, but I don't think that was anywhere near any of the islands hit by the tsunami. I'm pretty well traveled. But do you even get my point? If you have a problem with any beaches in Thailand being over-crowded, why go there? If you chose to go, you personally become part of the over-crowding problem. It's rediculous and extremely callous for those who survived the tsunami to be greatful for destruction. It's a vacation spot for you or me. But it's a home and livelihood for others. You can be just as greatful as you want that the beaches have been cleaned away by a tsunami. But then, you can just go there, enjoy yourself on the cheap, and then fly back home. But how would you feel if it were your home, business, and/or children that were wiped away? Would you just be so greaful that nature took care of that eye-sore of a home and business you've struggled to maintain for so many years? Would you be glad that your children were no longer around to disturb your peace and quiet?
