I think they fear that they can't do it. I think they depend on a lot of people for votes who aren't necessarily engaged in the ongoing process, like we are. Add to that the growing number of regretful Gregoire voters, and I think they're honestly afraid of a re-vote.

I heard that Ruth Bennett (L) has come out in support of Rossi now. Sounds like she may be interested in truth and fairness(??)

Is that right? She's definitely asking for a re-vote - but I wasn't sure what the reason was.

"That ruling is contestable, and rightly so since the ruling is in and of itself contrary to the accepted law of the land for the state. The third recount in that county should be tossed out and considered void."

I believe you are absolutely correct!

It's also worthy of note that Dino won a large majority of votes on election day. Only early cast absentees made it a tie. There was a decisive pro-Rossi swing in the last days of the campaign.

Rossi will win by 10% if we get a new election. And I don't honestly think it'll be that hard.

Anyhow, I was in the room during the press conference, and I know most of Dino's people. They are pretty confedent.

It doesn't matter if it is mistakes or fraud. Truth be told, even if there was fraud, we can't prove it. But that doesn't matter. According to the law, if the mistakes could change the outcome of the election, then the court can order a new election. And there was CLEARLY enough mistakes to swing the election. There was enough to swing it 20 times over.

What I can't figure out is why there is no body that can take some kind of control here.

The courts seem to be prejudiced.

We need something like the Texas Rangers or the RCMP to just say "Wait a minute here..."

if she has been and continues to be a participant in a criminal conspiracy once she is inaugurated, she will immediately be committing malfeasance/misfeasance in office.

You are, of course, correct.

I have seen no evidence of an ongoing conspiracy – which, in no way means there was not one, secrecy being implicit in conspiracy – if one exists it should be pursued irrespective of a revote.

If you have the evidence go for it, and good luck. I still think a revote is the simplest, cleanest solution.

I hope you will keep us all informed of your efforts. And – depending on your evidence – I hope you will pursue this, whether or not there is a revote, and whatever it’s outcome.

Don't worry. I will continue to pursue it. I have a personal interest in it, plus it is the right thing to do. Having an honest AG should make it far easier. Gregoire will be going to prison if the new AG does his job. A recall effort would then be unnecessary.

All voters to have photo ID? Yes, but how would the abstentee or vote by mail ballots be handled? Perhaps with an individual code established before hand?

No, Washington is not the state with all mail voting, but we have very liberal absentee voting rules. A Democrat friend of mine noted before the election that she had recieved numerous calls from the DNC trying to talk her into voting absentee. She hates to be bothered on the phone and told them that if they called her again that she would vote for Bush (which she did anyway). But that got us to wondering why the DNC was so interested in absentee ballots, then came the mistakes by the county auditors, resulting in multiple absentee ballots being sent out. My assumption is that the slack rules and errors were a concerted effort to influence the election or contest the election results as needed. It was much like the planned efforts to complain about the butterfly ballots in Florida and the hanging chads.

Well, I guess you all have your work cut out to do something about it, if you can.

For any non-military or non-government service absentees, make them physically present themselves with a photo ID at their local elections board offices to receive their ballot prior to their election day absence. IOW, issue no ballots sight unseen. If a person cannot physically appear at the designated place due to extended illness, then perhaps an election worker will have to visit the voter individually to issue their ballot in person. More work, I know. But ultimately less cost to the collective psyche than installing an illegitimate political regime.

I guess I have a problem with handing out ballots through the mail. Too much opportunity for ghost voters and non-residents voting from county buildings and post office boxes.
