Mel Gibson post-award press conference-"Kinship" with Michael Moore

Posted on 01/10/2005 10:33:48 AM PST by bushfamfan

Does anyone have the quotes that Mel Gibson apparently made after receiving his People's Choice Award in saying he felt a "kinship" with Michael Moore and attacking the war in Iraq?

Yup. You're always a clear thinker :)

I never said that.... ;-)

However there is some weird need of many FReepers to create "Us" and "Them" situations, regardless of whether or not the particular players really involved feel that way.

The Crusades were self-defense of Christians coming to aid other Christians and fall directly in line with that Christ said in scripture.

And he is not religious like he claims. I could understand a rational reason in being against the war but to praise Michael Moore and the film and attack the President's reason shows what kind of person Mel Gibson is. HE IS NO CONSERVATIVE AND HAS NEVER BEEN.

Chill out.

Who cares if he is, that in no way justifies your leftist like questioning of his religiosity. The Passion was one of the finest films ever made, if he wants to reach out to the leftist that is his perogitive. Not everybody is in love with Bush like you are.

From reading the entire article, even Moore's words, it looks like Gibson and Moore were partaking in some professional courteousy where they did not want to bash each other but did not stray far from their own works messages.

This is still Hollywood, so I ask the question "What type of an ass would go to an awards ceremony and bash someone else winning an award in a different category?" or "What type of an ass of a PR person would let his/her client bash someone else winning an award in a different category?"

These two still want their respective audiences and some other "swing" viewers to come to their movies in the future...

Maybe someone could pull up some old Passion threads and look to see just WHO was on those threads blasting Mel. Compare those names to those blasting him in this thread.

Yeah, this "Bushfamfan" is psycho on this thread, I mean just totally hatefilled and crazed. Either they're a binary thinker incapable of seeing anything other than Bush worship as "conservative" or there are other reasons for this rumor-post. Incendentally, the DUmmies are having a big laugh at Bushfamfan's expense.

And Michael Moore liked The Passion. There ya go. Proof of a conspiracy between the two of them.

The Passion was one of the finest films ever made....

I am proud to say it again, it is and it is easily going to be the most powerful experience I have ever had in a movie theatre.

Paleos are so cute when they shill for their anti-American pals.

I thought I was a neo-con and it was the paleos who hated this movie? No wait the "paleos" liked it because they're all anti semites. I need a scorecard to keep up with paranoid raving lunatics set on here.

No, they just hated blacks and Jews, which you apparently take as a positive sort of viewpoint.

My family members who were Democrats didn't hate blacks and Jews.

Economically, Dixiecrats really were simply a bunch of cracker populists; socially, they were class warriors. On foreign policy, they identified with the John Birch Society.

We were talking Democrats not Dixiecrats.

Dunno why it afflicts ubertrads and SSPXers so badly, though.

Hung up on the SSPX as well, huh?

"True Christians were not part of the crusades..."

that's completely false. The several hundred thousand crusaders over the few centuries were certainly following the orders of the one true Church of the time, and most probably believed in the cause.

You can't just look at past Christian atrocities and claim that the people weren't Christian due to their actions. If that's the case, then I dare say there isn't a single 'true Christian' on earth and never will be, since everyone will fail and sin at some point. Just because this is inevitable doesn't make one a non-Christian.

"Crusades and the Holocaust has nothing absolouetly nothing to do with Jesus Christ and his message to the entire human race."

Of course the Holocaust was nothing but pure evil and had nothing to do with any religion. I don't know why you used that in your example above.

But the Crusades were based in the religion of Christianity and the participants who fought, slaughtered, killed, and were killed by Muslims were Christians.

Sorry, but you can't rewrite history just because some of the facts are unsettling.

for instance, in 500 years, are people going to try to say that the 9-11 perps weren't 'real' Muslims?

It fits SSPXers so well.

Are you a former SSPX? How do you know this? Tell us about your experiences that make you so informed?
