The sanctimonious Tom Jackson was saying he was 'washing his hands of Randy Moss.' It was now up to Moss's coaches and owners to reel in Moss. Tom Jackson's prince is McNabb.
It wasn't the meter-maid's car he pushed down the street. It was the meter-maid.
Anyone who follows football closely knows that Randy Moss has been a major-league jackass going all the way back to his high school days. It's the reason why even Bobby Bowden and FSU passed up on him and why he dropped so much in the draft, despite his obvious talent. He brings lots of touchdowns, and he also brings a team lots of grief, and he always will.
Okay...so they like McNabb because he represents a dis on Rush. Is that it?
Really???
The bone-headed pinnacle was when Favre punched Lance Johnstone after his roughness penalty and neither drew a flag nor was ejected from the game (mandatory for fighting). Probably the first time in NFL history that a retaliation went unpunished.
1. Agreed--Favre played a horrendous game;
2. I think Rush's reaction is him trying to make up for the perceived slight of McNabb;
3. The NFL players themselves should handle the policing of this. If his own teammates won't straighten Moss out, then the Eagles, early on, ought to put in some 3rd string defensive back with instructions to take Moss out of the game.
Furthermore, like Moss reeeeeallly takes his cues from sports talking heads like Tom Jackson and et al.
You know what? I think the 15 touchdowns he's brought to the 11 games he's played in this year outweight the so-called grief.
Remember that everyone once thought OJ was the good guy and Jim Brown was the bad guy. We really don't know these people as well as we think we do.
What the hell does that comment mean? I was serious about my questions and not talking to you. Why do you feel compelled to be a jackhole about it?
So, (teammates) wonder why the fans don't 'respect' the player on the field (court)? With this kind of behavior provoking home town fans, etc., and Moss a couple of steps from getting into the stands, and here we go again.
We're all fortunate that it didn't escalate in a similar manner as the thuggery that was enacted in Detroit.
En how. I agree 100%
Peyton deserves the gushing, hes a good player and seems to be a good person as well. Finally kids have someone they can look up to!
I think that's half of it. What's your take?
That's for sure. Excellent analogy as well.
So? Who wouldn't? Moss is a shiitheel. McNabb a great person.
Here is some info from the live thread of yesterday:
"I didn't pass on him. Jones did. However, it's not the smirk, attitude or antics that bother me about Moss.
Following his latest boneheaded decision, the supremely talented but immeasurably troubled Vikings wide receiver found himself in a jail cell a couple nights ago awaiting a possible felony charge after he ignored a traffic agent's instructions while trying to make an illegal turn in downtown Minneapolis and then pushed her down the street with his 2002 Lexus.
He was originally set to go to Notre Dame in college, but was forced to go to Florida State because of "off field" problems. The off-field problems were beating up another student and sending him to the hospital after kicking him while he was on the ground. He got booted out of Florida State after testing positive for drugs. He ended up at Marshall State, and while there was charged with domestic battery after an altercation with his girlfriend and mother of two of his children.
During his stint in the NFL, he's been fined $25,000 for squirting a referee with a water bottle, $10,000 for verbally abusing an official, and $25,000 for making contact with an official. The Vikings fined him $15,000 for verbally abusing corporate sponsors. Oh, he also had marijuana in his Lexus when he pushed the cop a half block.
The problem isn't the smirk."
