Among those receiving special awards will be:
U.S. Army Infantry veteran Lou Priebe, who is helping coordinate the receptions arrangements, said, These courageous advocacy groups and individuals richly deserve the recognition which they will receive from their many friends who are profoundly grateful for their invaluable service during the 2004 Presidential election. These staunch men and women made extremely important contributions in helping tell the truth about Kerrys actual record during and after the Vietnam War and about his lack of fitness to serve as Americas Commander-in-Chief. Were celebrating the fact that Kerry is not being inaugurated on January 20 and honoring the exemplary people who helped make his absence from the historic days ceremonies a reality!
The reception will begin at 11:00 am in the First Amendment Room of the National Press Club, overlooking the Inaugural Parade route at the intersection of 14th & F Streets, NW.
Very cool!
Bet MSM won't cover this!
Vets and friends ping...
Thanks for the ping!

Announcing: The John Kerry UN-inaugural Celebration
glance :-\
Hmmmmm, will I be seeing this on CBS this evening??? lmao!
I wonder if CSPAN will be covering this event?
I don't think so....
Kerry was inaugurated before he wasn't.
Well, you wouldn't anyway, but this isn't primarily a media event -- it's a chance to get together and say thanks to some of the folks who planted themselves between Kerry and the Oval Office and refused to get out of the way.
Well done, AGAIN, IT!
Spread the word, you all!
Ping...
Wow - you all have a GREAT time - what a wonderful idea!!
Interesting Event!!!!!! Wow, Jim's gonna be there. Very cool.

Swift Vets & POWs for Truth ~ Vietnam Vets for the Truth ~ Bump!
Thanks Interesting Times ~ good stuff!
marking this...
BTT!!!!!!!
You'll recall that the National Press Club was the site of the initial Swift Vets press conference back on May 4 of last year...
Great job! It seems the least we can do.
This will drive those leftists who are petitioning to have Al Gore assume the title at least of "President".
IT, you and anybody else who assisted with the Winter soldier website deserve an award as well!
I read your post to my wife. She said, "Expect all the adult bookstores to go out of business."

I sure do remember! Watched it on CSPAN-2 - full program.
Most memorable to me:
"We resent very deeply the false war crimes charges he made coming back from Vietnam in 1971 and repeated in the book "Tour of Duty." We think those cast an aspersion on all those living and dead, from our unit and other units in Vietnam. We think that he knew he was lying when he made the charges, and we think that they're unsupportable. We intend to bring the truth about that to the American people.
We believe, based on our experience with him, that he is totally unfit to be the Commander-in-Chief."
-- John O'Neill, spokesman, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth
+++AND+++
"My name is Steve Gardner. I served in 1966 and 1967 on my first tour of duty in Vietnam on Swift boats, and I did my second tour in '68 and '69, involved with John Kerry in the last 2 1/2 months of my tour. The John Kerry that I know is not the John Kerry that everybody else is portraying. I served alongside him and behind him, five feet away from him in a gun tub, and watched as he made indecisive moves with our boat, put our boats in jeopardy, put our crews in jeopardy... if a man like that can't handle that 6-man crew boat, how can you expect him to be our Commander-in-Chief?"

I think I may just have to go to this.

Thanks. Actually, I'm on the list, along with Bob Hahn (Nick Danger), for WinterSoldier.com and SwiftVets.com.
Great! I'll see you there.
Thanks for the ping! BTTT!
NAME TAG IDEA: Wear special badges of our American Flag--made from the cover photo of Kerry' "New Soldier" treason...BUT
...TURNED UPSIDE DOWN so Old Glory is right side up and the A##ho!es are upside down....
Do we have some kind of "honorable mention" award? I know of one person, at least, who deserves that.
68-69tonkingulfyachtclub.
He did a tremendous amount of work at the Free Republic in bringing the misdeeds and lies of JFKerry to light. He, I believe, continues this campaign even today!
I'm not saying he did more than anybody, but he put his heart and soul, every day and on more than one thread, in to making sure that the truth was not hidden.
68-69tonkingulfyachtclub.
I'd certainly second that.
This particular event is being organized outside FR, however...
Kristinn--idea to pass on, wish I could be there!
Thanks, I've been cubicle bound for the past week or so and haven't had a chance to get my daily dose of info. Glad to see Freepers are aware of this silly program.
Is the plan to watch the parade from the warm and cozy indoors, then watch the inauguration on the big screen?
Guests can come and go as they like. There'll be a big screen TV inside, along with a buffet and a nearby cash bar. You can amble downstairs to view the Inaugural events and smile sweetly at the ANSWER commies, then return to the warmth of the First Amendment room at any time between 11am and 4pm.
Probably not inside...

No mask, but here's a pic Registered did.
Maybe it would make a good poster, LOL.
Sounds like a great event, but many of us had already planned to go to the parade route itself per below quoted thread. By populating that area, that is one less area for the leftists.
Hope that we can have thousands of FReepers, some going to the buffet with Jim Robinson at the National Press Club, others going to the swearing in, and still others going to the parade route per below thread.
ANNOUNCEMENT: D.C. CHAPTER 'SAFE HAVEN' DEMONSTRATION ZONES FOR BUSH INAUGURAL PARADE ROUTE
D.C. Chapter ^ | Wednesday, January 5, 2005 | Kristinn
Posted on 01/05/2005 8:10:01 PM PST by kristinn
The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic has obtained a demonstration permit from the U.S. Park Service for two places along the Inaugural Parade route for January 20.
They are not what we applied for. However, we will try to make do with what has been offered us.
The two places are close together, but apart. One is a 141-foot-long stretch on the north side of the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. (18 feet deep, total 2658 sq. ft.) The other is a section of sidewalk at 7th Street and Indiana, Avenue, N.W. (11,921 sq. ft.)
Our main purpose in gathering there is to provide a 'safe haven' from violent left wing and liberal protesters for conservatives and other supporters of President Bush.
Being that it is expected that tens of thousands of anti-American protesters will be swarming the parade route, we are calling our areas the American Sectors.
While we are trying to establish an area free from left wing violence, no guarantee can be made of absolute safety. But we will work with law enforcement officers to let them know that we expect to be able to show our support for the President in peace and safety.
Our permit for the American Sectors runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Those of you who do not plan on going to the swearing in ceremony at the Capitol are encouraged to come to the American Sectors early and make the day of it. As far as we know, the parade route will be open to spectators and demonstrators sometime in the morning. Once the screening points open up, it will be a competition with the anti-American protesters to fill the public space along the parade route. We expect to have our hands full maintaining the integrity of the American Sectors. Your help early in the day would be appreciated. [emphasis added]
Yeah, I figured you guys were going to the parade route to do that voodoo you do so well, but I wanted to make sure you got a heads up.
Excellent! Thanks.
