Iraqi Boy Helps Lead Troops to Roadside Bomb

Mosul, Iraq -- Multi-National Forces from 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), were able to defuse a roadside bomb after an Iraqi boy provided them with information about it in northern Iraq on Jan. 10.

Soldiers of the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, were on patrol in Mosul when an Iraqi child informed them of a roadside bomb in the area. The tip led to the diffusion and destruction of the bomb.

No injuries were reported, and the child was compensated for his service.

Good for this Iraqi boy. He not only probably saved some lives of soldiers but possibly some innocent Iraqis. I just pray the jihadists don't target him or his family for this.

One can only hope the identity of the child/informer has been completely protected. Often I'm amazed at the overzealous MSM correspondents who video interviews with subjects - Interviews which could get them killed. Often it's "I've got my story - next" with little regard for the consequences to their subjects welfare.

Can't speak for the population, which is probably force-fed or only knows of Al-Jazeera All-Terrorist Network.

But at least this kid did the right thing, thank God.

Roger that. I'd say this kid needs a new mountain bike.

If this sort of thing becomes prevalent then the Iraqis will be "In-Charge" of their own future. Until They take charge things won't get much better. However these stories are being heard of more and more, lately. Myabe just maybe the Elections will Empower the Iraqis. I know I am going to pray about it.

Awhile back there was a story of a small girl sitting in the road to block a U.S. convoy. When they stopped she pointed to the road directly behind her. They uncovered a land mine there.

After they disarmed the mine, they ran over the little girl and continued on their way. (Hey, just joking!. First paragraph was true, though.)
