Which people would that be?
Not "springtime for Hitler"?
WHO SAID THAT?!?!
However, the swastika does not fit your other analogies. The Swastiks was an Eastern religious symbol of eternal recurrence -- not a part of German culture.
I'm sure most Germans were glad to be rid of it.
However, they still would cling to Mein Herr, Meine Dame, and Strudel, u.s.w.
Don't give up your day job.
Ahhhh... Thanks for clarifying.
"But I think I heard a snicker"
You could have heard me laugh.
Last word <--- mine!!
Harry is a lucky kid for many reasons. Mainly because he does not have his fathers ears. Or, more accurately, he does not have Charles's ears or his looks. Poor Charles, who is supposedly Harry's father and a man in love with a woman who looks like a horse. Which I guess is OK because Charles looks like a horse too.
The British royal family could all drop dead tomorrow and the world world be no more the worse. In America, I guess we could say the same thing about the Kennedy's. But they don't tend to drop dead. Just out of the sky sometimes.
ROTFLMAO. Nothing cuts down a dictator like laughing at his sorry a**.
A) The swastika itself is not racist etc. It was around far to long before 1933 for that.
B) I served with an ex-SS soldier who was clearly not Nazi and was about the best soldier I knew.
C) A swastika arm band, on a faux nazi uniform, worn by a member of a British royalty imported from (oops) Germany, and considered fitting at a party dedicated to colonialism and the untermunchen, should be grounds for being punted from both the royal family and society at large.
And, finally, "Mein Herr," or "Meine Dame," omits a couple of other "Meins" and "Heils" that carry far more accurate connotation than "sir" and "Madam".
Wonder where he got the costume.
It's being reported that Harry won't be attending any holocaust memorials.
"at a party dedicated to colonialism and the untermunchen"
tho' perhaps making fun of the colonial attitude of superiority over the subject peoples??
As history shows, terror bombing of civilians (which came to its ultimate logic in WW II against Dresden, etc.) was invented by the British as a way of keeping the very numerous subject peoples in line -- when there was not enough British blood to do it on the ground man-to-man . . .
I think the Swastika was used by the Vikings...
