Interesting that, without the benefit of Richard "It's All About ME" Clarke's report, the Bush administration developed (shortly before 911) a policy for Al Qaida/Afghanistan/Pakistan which was along the lines of -- except more robust and daring than -- what the report recommended. The Clinton admin had failed to act on the report at all because it consider the recommended course of action too hard to accomplish and too disruptive.

And yet Clarke was peeved with the Bush administration (which adopted, albeit independently, his policy) and praised the Clinton administration (which not only ignored his recommendations but didn't even inform the incoming administration about them). A strange fellow, Mr. Richard.

Hopefully, we will determine what three or four (YEAH right) documents he mistakenly discarded. I believe the reason this is taking so long to get out of the grand jury is that there was some really damaging historical aspects of all this.
