10,000 same-day registrations in Milwaukee illegible

[history]
Assemblyman Jeff Stone (R-Greenfield) has been pestering the Milwaukee Election Commission to report how many people registered at the polls on November 2. Initially, they reported to him on Wednesday that about 8,000 people registered at the polls that day, out of about 255,000 votes cast, about 380,000 voters registered as of the September election (and an estimated 20,000-30,000 registrants between that point and the cutoff point for preregistration), and 565,000 residents (including about 430,000 adults) in the city. Now, they report a few VERY disturbing things:
- 84,000 people registered at the polls on November 2.
- 10,000 people, despite filling out illegible registration cards, were given ballots.
- The other 74,000 registrations have yet to be verified through mailing a confirmation to the address listed.
A couple of things to point out. First, President Bush lost the state by about 12,000 votes. Second, there are now more registered voters in Milwaukee than there are adults in Milwaukee.

A very short (and incomplete) list of other Democrat dirty tricks in Wisconsin this past election -
- Various Democrat-linked outfits won the right to be deputized as registars, giving them the right to say that a "new voter's identification" meets the requirements of the law.
- The city of Milwaukee requested and later obtained from the county (who provides the ballots for elections) 918,000 ballots for this election (despite the numbers above). Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker did, however, obtain a concession that the unused ballots would be returned to the county instead of being destroyed by the city. It turns out that less than 300,000 ballots, including spoils, were used.
- Tires on vehicles rented by the Republican Party for transportation of voters were slashed by, among others, the adult son of newly-elected Congresswoman Gwendoline Moore (D-Milwaukee). The criminal investigation is being slow-dragged to obliviion by Milwaukee District Attorney E. Michael McCann (D-Milwaukee).
- The same Mark Belling cited up above was verbally intimidated at his polling place in the city of Milwaukee on November 2.
- The Milwaukee Election Commission had not delivered a single absentee ballot to polling places by 6 pm, a mere 2 hours before the polls close. Despite an effort by the Milwaukee Police and Fire Departments, several hundred ballots were not delivered in time to be counted. They were, however, later counted after a ruling by the State Elections Board.

Is there any legal way to challenge the system before the next election? If we don't get a handle on the Democratic fraud, the will of the people will never be realized.

You should have seen the line at our polling place. All day 100 deep. Most of these freaks probably couldn't write and a lot of them were from Illinois. We were screwed into being a blue state. Of coarse, the welfare counties of Milwaukee,Racine and Kenosha made the difference for the fool Kerry.

Is there any legal way to challenge the system before the next election? If we don't get a handle on the Democratic fraud, the will of the people will never be realized. The only ways would be to either get a change past a Governor Jim Doyle (D-Madistan) veto (the Pubbies only hold a 19-14 advantage in the state Senate and 60-39 advantage in the Assembly, not enough to bust a veto) or have the US Attorney find a federal hook (the DAs in both Milwaukee and Dane Counties, as well as the Attorney General are all DemonRATs).

Even the streets near the polls in Port Washington (more than 100 miles north of Illinois)were lined with cars from Illinois on election day, according to eyewitness reports.

THIS is the opportunity We need to get EVERY congressman and Senator, Republican OR Democrat, concerned enough about vote fraud, real OR imagined -- to get on board to push for uniform voting requirements for FEDERAL offices nationwide, including photo ID and a signature affirming citizenship and voting only once -- with penalties for PERJURY AS WELL AS VOTING LAW VIOLATIONS.
And, uh, speaking of affirming citizenship... how 'bout THIS idea?
I called MY Congressman and Senator's offices this past week. How about YOU?
Wait a minute. How 'bout photo ID and signatures affirming citizenship, voting only once, being properly registered, still living at the address of registration (and NOT BEING DEAD?) -- with penalties for perjury as well as voting law violations? And then mandate protections for the early mailing and late counting of armed forces personnel's absentee ballots in ALL elections -- with even TOUGHER penalties for poll worker and election commission violations. Absentee voters should have to send in a signed copy of their ID along with their ballot. And there needs to be a national database to cross-reference names (with social security numbers?) and make sure that when a person registers in a new district his registration is cancelled in the old district.

It's easy.
Let a Republican win an election engaging in that kind of fraud.
I submit that being more goal-oriented than the Democrats, we can probably manufacture 10 phony votes to each Democrat phony vote.

Are you sure? I hadn't heard that, although it wouldn't surprise me.... I'm positive that unless the Milwaukee Election Commission wiped a heap of non-voters off the rolls, there are more "registered" voters than adults in Milwaukee. Going off of memory from numbers I dug up when the Milwaukee Election Commission was begging for 918,000 ballots, there were 385,000 registered voters as of the September election (and if I remember right, that number did NOT include same-day registrations at that election), and at most 450,000 adults in the city. There also was the story just before the election of over 20,000 registrations sent in between that election and the cut-off date not processed, bringing that up to a minimum of 405,000. Given that there also was a refusal to remove addresses that were proven to not exist from the rolls, another 84,000 same-day registrations would bring that number to 489,000 "registered" voters. By my math, that's at least 39,000 more voters than adults (and I am including felons still on probation and thus ineligible to vote).
I'll be the same thing holds true in Racine at the rate GOTV was registering "voters".
If I were in Henderson, Nevada instead of Oak Creek, I'd open a book on it.
If your stat about the number of registered voters is true, it's something we need to use to effect a change! When do we get the names so that they can be checked against the rolls of the dead?
Those are actually open records, so I'd imagine you can get those when City Hall opens on Tuesday.

That registration information is evidence per se of fraud. The Milwaukee Election Commission is a criminal enterprise. I hope Belling keeps this topic on his show every single day until the head dimwit gets thrown in jail or we get voter ID cards, whichever comes first.

I was a poll watcher in Kenosha. (I drove up from Lake County, Illinois) My precinct had UW-Parkside in it. We saw several hundred students who were bused in and then registered and voted using nothing more than their student IDs (which doesn't have an address on it) When we protested, we were put in contact with the head of the state board of elections, who's a democrat. He told us that they could vote, as long as they were on the list of students who lived in the dorms.
There had to be at least 700-800 students who voted this way, all in one precinct.
To: steveegg
I have a feeling this was going on in every county the Dems controlled in every swing state. Luckily enough Bush voters showed up in Ohio to overcome the Dem fraud in their state.
To: steveegg; afraidfortherepublic; Peach
Actually, 2000 was the rehearsal for 2004! In the 2000 election, approximately 245,000 voted in the City of Milwaukee, of which approximately 81,500 were same day registrationS - yeap, even more in 2000 than the past election.
And here's the kicker - to my knowledge, NONE of those 81,500 were ever verified. At the time of a hearing on election reform in 2001, the Milwaukee Election Commission stated they were too "overwhelmed" entering the data into their system to send out cards to verify the validity of any of those 81,500 votes!
To: FreeKeys
How about this: Pass a federal law abolishing same day registration.
To: republicandiva
Actually, 2000 was the rehearsal for 2004! BINGO
The only good thing that came out of that election mess was that more and more people are paying closer attention and talking about the fraud that has been going on for YEARS *cough LBJ cough*
If the Dems want to look into Voter Fraud??
I DARE then to REALLY look into it

I am absolutely convinced that the Dems stole Wisconsin's electoral votes in 2004 and in 2000.
Same-day registration must end. More importantly, a requirement that a voter present a driver's license (or a state-issued "non-driver's license" for those who don't drive), and that the license numbers be keyed in to prevent multiple voting, doesn't seem too opprobrious to me.
Not that I, as a resident of North Carolina, am in any position to criticize Wisconsin's setup. The procedure here is to state your name and address, period. You are then good to go with your vote. The potential for abuse is obvious: I could pick a name out of the phone book, remember the address, and vote in a precinct on the other side of the county -- and then go to my precinct, and cast a "legitimate" vote.
Why are there more safeguards involved with my purchase of a book from Amazon.com than there are with my vote? Which transaction is more important?

I see the potential to convict about 20000 to 40000 individuals here of federal election fraud, a felony, and even without them doing a day in jail or being fined, they would be stricken from the voter roles forever. Wouldn't that be a nice present for 2008?

Wouldn't that be a nice present for 2008? Slight problem; in Wisconsin, once their sentence is up (both jail and probation), they're back on the voter rolls. What you can do with convictions is bar them from public office (and there's a few of those that need to be prosecuted).
