It is easier to spot bias in articles than it is to measure bias in the absence of reporting.
So I always try to read this:
http://chrenkoff.blogspot.com/
Right side of the page carries the Good News from Iraq and Afghanistan updated biweekly.
God Bless our troops and Ryan.
Hey, I always say if it's worth saying, it's worth saying twice.
ping
And there is the problem
Many in the media .. press and on Capital Hill think we should have perfect wars .. where everything is right on plan and perfect as can be
I think those folks have what you call Type A Personalities
The media and CongressRATS understand this fully and choose to exploit it for political purposes.
BTTT for a good article.
LTC John T. Ryan, " A Soldiers Soldier." Promote this LTC to Colonel ASAP. NSNR
Axiom: Reason and truth will not stir the Left Wing Media or it's fascist fellow-travelers to give you a fair hearing. They are always against a Constitutional, decent America and will sabotage your efforts against a mortal enemy at every turn!
What a fabulous article with so many salient points I wouldn't know where to start. The media today is a far different animal than the media in the 40's...thank goodness.
There were things in this I hadn't known - about people being baked in ovens. The MSM certainly wouldn't want us to know about that. They are too busy trying to make putting panties on the heads of terrorists into the moral equivalent of Saddam's version of torture.
This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of good stuff that is worthy attention. I keep separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson, Lee Harris, David Warren, Orson Scott Card. You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).
GREAT POINT. With the exception of those in the military, or those who have attended a military academy, how many Americans have read these works? (Perhaps a reasonable number have read the Sun Zsu.) If we are to raise responsible and informed citizens, who can function in a 21st century geopolitical society, should these be part of our curriculum?
I wonder what the folks at ISI would say...

"People in the liberal media, like Hersh, apparently are so distrustful of the Bush administration and so fearful of the "neocon" influence at the Pentagon that they are apparently willing to subordinate our national security interests to undermine this influence in the administration. During the interview I didn't notice Wolf raising one question with Hersh about the propriety of his report. These self-anointed journalists of the Old Media believe their motives are beyond scrutiny. They serve a higher calling. Their wisdom transcends national loyalties; they goodness cannot be confined to artificial nation state constructs.
Hersh's report -- true or not -- is shameful and disgraceful and people should call him to the carpet for it. I suppose we'll see the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and other MSM dinosaurs railing against this over the next few days. It's time that the New Media jumped all over this and called into question Hersh, the Old Media and their unpatriotic reporting here.
Yes, I said it: unpatriotic. If tipping off the enemy isn't unpatriotic can you tell me what is? And don't you dare tell me the public has a right to know. There are certain things the public must not know, because if it knows, so does the enemy. You can't protect a public that insists on being informed as to sensitive intelligence and military operations. It's time we remove this artificial halo from this public's right to know construct."
Another view of the media.
Thank you.
Awesome column ping. Ping your friends.
We cannot allow another Vietnam to occur. The U.S. cannot lose another conflict due to Lefty media control.
WHY? Always a good question.
Why the media only shows the "bad" news? Laziness, It's just to easy for them to sit in the "Green Zone" and send back "sexy photos" and stories about how things are going down hill.
Then there's the old "If it bleeds it leads" school of reporting, once again this does not require a whole lot of work on the part of a reporter.
I could talk about the bias fo the MSM but I don't think we need too say anything about that as it's pretty much a given.
Thank goodness for the blogs for setting the record straight on Iraq.
If I may I'd recomend
In The Red Zone

Thanks, Tolik -- outstanding article.
"I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all there would be news from Hell before breakfast."
--- Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman
Read! Bookmarked! And passed on to many......
Booked, and sent on the my e-mail list. Great piece
Excellent read and accurate picture of how the leftist MSM aids and abets the terrorists.
