Eight ultra-Orthodox Jews have been injured, some seriously, in a spate of anti-Semitic attacks in the London district of Stamford Hill over recent weeks, a senior Jewish official in Britain told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.
He also revealed that gravestones in the Jewish section of a municipal cemetery in Aldershot, Hampshire, including those of ex-servicemen, were desecrated over the past few days. This was the second such incident at the cemetery in two months.
In the latest attack by vandals, a total of 12 headstones were defaced with Nazi daubings.
The Stamford Hill attacks on conspicuously dressed ultra-Orhtodox men are believed to have been perpetrated by a gang of up to four men, who have been described as black and Asian.
In some cases, the victims were struck with iron bars, while in others they were punched, kicked and head-butted by their assailants. Some required hospitalization for treatment.
Police are investigating the incidents.
Mike Whine, a senior official at the Community Security Trust (CST), which is dedicated to defending the Jewish community, told the Post he could discern no particular reason for the attacks, which he described as "potentially lethal."
He noted that CST's annual survey of anti-Semitism, which is scheduled to be published next month, would indicate a pattern of rising anti-Semitism and rising violence.

I went to college with some Pakistanis who were quite dark-complected. Some Pakistanis look more like Indians, others more like Afghans.
Yes. Traditionally, at least in the United States, blacks and asians (as large scale groups) have not gotten along well. Look at California and all the violence between blacks and Koreans. I remember having a section in my sociology class about this. It's theorized that the two groups were seen as the two lowest on the societal scale during most of American history, especially in the western portion of the U.S. I remember my professor saying, "Most people need someone to hate. These two just hate each other.

I think those folks would be of Dravidian descent. Not what we commonly think of as "black". "Black" typically refers to someone of sub-Saharan African descent.
If the headline read "Jews attacked by Islamic Nazis" it would convey the story far more accurately.
Of course. But someone attacked on the street might not be in a position to make that distinction.
"black people" in France usually means Moroccan or Algierian Muslim extremist immigrants.
Or start carrying firearms, which of course in unpopular with the liberal crowd.

So, let me get this straight . . . according to the both of you in posts #17 and #19, this could have been an attack by Muslims and Muslims, not blacks and asians? LOL
just so everyone knows:
"Asian" is BritSpeak for "Middle-Eastern"
"Oriental" is BritSpeak for what we here in the US call "Asian"
in other words, these are not Chinese or Koreans or Laotians beating up Jews - these are our dear friends the Mohammedians.

Since it is now illegal in the UK to call an Islamofascist a 'terrorist' I suppose they are using 'Asian' as an alternative code word.

Asian is not used for people of ME descent. We call them Arabs.
It is used for Asian and Oriental.

Asians come from Asia geographically speaking.
Anyone in ME would generally be termed Arab but also could apply for North Africa.
they don't equate "Asians" with Pakistanis or middle -eastern at all....
this little word trick is another bow to the politically correct gods, who wouldn't want middle-easterners to be thought of as dangerous......

I think British say "Oriental" to refer to Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, and "Asian" for Indians and Pakistanis.

No, really, I think they're just reflecting the usage in the country where the incidents happened and where the witnesses made their report. It would be odd to then translate that further into American English, particularly when we don't have more precise comments from the witnesses.

the father had a special security built in...unbreakable windows....etc.....cameras outside....
except the dumb shyster had no weapon at all no gun...no knife...no sword...nothing...all this thousand dollars worth of security and NO GUN!!!

no differance as long as a true and clear picture of who is committing these crimes is well-known to everyone in England....
but you tell the average person here in not-so-smart America, which is unfortunately a larger and larger segment, that it was an attack by "asians" only one type of person comes to mind, and its not Muslims or Arabs....

Well, this story did appear in a foreign paper. If it were appearing in an American paper, they might have clarified, but their word choice looks like the safe default option: going with what the witnesses said and what the context would demand.

I think most people would know or at least suspect who would be behind the attacks.

In Britain, "Asian" almost always means Pakistani or Indian. When used in connection with a crime of violence, it means Pakistani and Muslim.

Yep. Wait 'til more details come out and you will see we are right. Once you've learned to interpret the media, you'll gain a lot of information they don't print. For example, they never would have printed that some of the perps were black unless they were also Muslim.
