It's so obvious you aren't AMERICAN, or you would understand!

I know, My ex-son inlaw from France was full of hate.
If they would just think about it, we didn't take over their
country so why are they so upset?
Of course the answer is they are embarrassed that they need
help from the lowly Americans.
I would think after almost 60 years they would get over it
but .....

Oh, right, the french surely did welcome this American and couldn't wait for me to become one of them.
As I said, you just don't get what it means to be AMERICAN.

Ingrate is the word that comes to mind.
As Colin Powell said to the euroweenies.......we asked for nothing but a place to bury our dead after we rescued europe.

They don't seem to cover the part about dictators using America as a straw man to distract the populace from their own corruption and failure. I think this is an enormously common reason for anti-americanism, especially in the Middle East.

You can move to Japan, France, Great Britain and never become Japanese, French, or British, but you can move to the United States from anywhere in the world and become AMERICAN.Wow, reminds me of my first post on FR.

Reagan was and is my hero!
I agree with what Reagan said and my take on it is still America is the only country in the world where there is a "system in place" whereby any of its citizens can achieve success. Individual success for all citizens is the American reality and the World's dream. And I live in Europe!

Capitalizing AMERICAN means I'm arrogantly proudly AMERICAN!!!
No other country on earth even comes close.

Why do they hate us? A simple answer. America is the only country in history that you can hate, dispise, and spit in the face without fear of being wiped out!

Actually hating the FRENCH is one thing that binds us together... England irritates me occasionally, but I don't worry about being shot in the back by you chaps. I like to think of America as being an extension of English liberty, not a break away from a non-free culture.
