WICHITA, KS (Talon News) -- Pro-life action group Operation Rescue has asked it supporters to officially boycott the national hotel chain La Quinta Inn in protest of one of their locations providing a discount to women coming from out of town wanting to terminate the life of their babies at a nearby abortion clinic known for performing late-term abortions.
Operation Rescue says a company-owned La Quinta Inn located in Wichita, Kansas offers pregnant women a discount to stay at their hotel for the duration of the abortion procedure conducted by an abortion doctor named George Tiller at his Women's Health Care Services facility.
Since Tiller is one of only a very few abortion doctors who will terminate a pregnancy into the third trimester in the United States, pregnant women have been known to travel a long way to utilize his services.
La Quinta Inn Public Relations Manager Teresa Ferguson told Talon News on Thursday that a medical discount is available at any of their more than 380 locations nationwide for out-of-town guests visiting a nearby medical facility.
"As a hotel chain, La Quinta, like many other chains offers a medical discount rate at locations near medical facilities for those guests who request it," Ferguson told Talon News.
Operation Rescue said pro-life supporters in the area have "long known" about La Quinta Inn's participation in the abortion process for these women visiting Tiller.
But the pro-life group now claims Tiller has gone one step further by having a nursing staff at the hotel and providing medication to the pregnant women having the abortions at Tiller's clinic over the 3-4 day abortion procedure.
The abortion methodology utilized by Tiller includes administering a lethal drug into the unborn baby and then forcing the pregnant mother to deliver the dead baby.
Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said he doubts La Quinta Inn has even thought about the legal liability they are putting themselves in by being affiliated with Tiller's abortion practice.
"One has to wonder if the La Quinta has adequate medical malpractice insurance to cover any complications that may arise while women continue their abortion process at the hotel," Newman inquired in a statement.
Ferguson said that it is impossible for La Quinta to differentiate between Tiller's abortion clinic and any other medical facility, because they are not allowed to inquire about the medical procedure being conducted.
"We respect our guests' right to privacy and are not permitted to ask any guest the reason for their stay under any circumstances," Ferguson continued.
Noting there have been several instances recently where the lives of the pregnant women were at stake under the watchful eye of Tiller and his staff, Newman said he is concerned that these women are not being adequately cared for medically.
"After last week's botched abortion that landed one of Tiller's patients in the emergency room, there is real concern for the safety of women who must endure part of their abortion in a non-medical, ill-equipped hotel room," Newman contended.
As a result, Operation Rescue has officially launched a national boycott of all La Quinta Inn hotels asking for this business arrangement to end and to send a message to La Quinta Inn that pro-life consumers will not tolerate a business causing harm to women and children as they have done so in Wichita, Kansas.
"This is more than a case of abortion collaboration," Operation Rescue Outreach Coordinator Cheryl Sullenger said in a release. "This is a matter of aiding and abetting the needless killing of innocent, viable children."
She continued, "If it were not for the participation of the La Quinta Inn as a part of his abortion mill, Tiller would not be able to abort babies using his current procedure. Men and women of conscience must speak out about this atrocity and take action to stop the wicked baby-killing alliance between Tiller and the La Quinta Inn."
Sullenger is urging pro-life supporters to contact La Quinta Inn directly to express their concerns about the open support for abortion displayed by one of their hotel affiliates.
Several protesters carrying signs gathered in front of the La Quinta Inn in Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday to expose the hotel's participation in Tiller's abortion process.
As for the notion that La Quinta Inn has participated in Tiller's abortion procedure with medical staffing at the hotel, Ferguson assured Talon News that they "do not provide medical services for or in conjunction with any facility."

Always stay at La Quinta...NOT! PING!
Do they give frequent abortion miles?
How sick.
"Do they give frequent abortion miles?"
Sad commentary, isn't it?
"Killer Tiller" is bad enough, without a hotel having to join in. This is beyond marketing strategy. It is certainly complicity in murder.
Pelosi is a ghoul.
A free abortion with every two nights' stay!
I wonder if Susan Smith and Andrea Yates will get lifetime discounts there.
And if you forget your RU-486, you can ask for a complimentary dose down at the front desk!
No, I'm afraid they don't qualify. They killed their children AFTER they were born...
What? Is the vending machine broken?
