I've never been able to stomach him. Now I know why.

http://www.nypost.com/gossip/38475.htm
January 20, 2005 -- MACY Gray is still showing up to the Creative Coalition's Inauguration party tonight, but co-chair Dennis Hopper isn't. One source said Hopper canceled his trip to Washington when he was "uninvited" from the official presidential party after "religious groups complained about his [sketchy] history." But Hopper, a longtime George Bush supporter, isn't going, a close pal said, because of work reasons. "He is right in the middle of a huge movie deal," the friend said. Another celeb not going to the bash because of work is Sylvester Stallone, who had to cancel because he's filming "Duplicity."

[Hopper] is a hard-core supporter of Bush,

Dang, I didn't know that. And Matthew Modine? That's a head-scratcher. The only one of this group I really like is Joey Pants. Glad he's on W's side, at least.

I know he was just acting, but after seeing him in "Blue Velvet", I am scared of him.

There must be more to this story than meets the eye. Why would he be uninvited to a party he created? Hope someone gets the story straight before we all jump to conclusions.

Ah, nothing like a little "Christian Charity" from the Taliban wing of the conservative movement.

Hate the sin, love the sinner folks.

Something tells me Hopper is giving the Inaugural Committee the same response he gave at the end of "Easy Rider".

or perhaps he yelled "PABST BLUE RIBBON!" when asked what would be served.

I'm guessing Farah and the so-called "pro-family" boys struck again. This is stupid beyond comprehension. Farah and Dobson had better be sent a message that they are going to have to share the party with the rest of us, they don't own it. Idiots.

where the entertainment ... was singer Macy Gray.

Something is wrong here. If Macy Gray was the entertainer, then this was not a Republican friendly event.

Hopper, a Hollywood icon and long-time actor, director and producer

...and a long ago brain dead druggie whose only claim to fame was Easy Rider. There is a reason why he has resurfaced after many years of anonymity and thats because the hollyweirds felt sorry for the bum. Claiming to be a Republican at this point in his questionable career will likely be the end of him........

No great loss......

I saw an interview with Hopper several months back and he was as pro-Bush as any of us. He's taken some hits for his political standing, but doesn't really give a sh$t! He's his own man. Having this happen, if true, isn't right. As stated in a earlier post, "President Bush can use as many friendly Hollywood types as possible". Personally, I like the guy.

"He is right in the middle of a huge movie deal,"

That scenerio sounds more likely. Of course, the libiots can never pass up an opportunity to leak a bogus story to try to make our President look bad. Ain't gonna work, folks.
