Oops! Didn't mean to repeat it that many times. Sorry.

It was during the robbery attempt that a store worker fired the shot that landed Williams in the hospital, authorities said. His condition was not immediately known.

Really kinda hope he was gut shot. I hear that's really painful.

I understand it was an arm wound...and the TV had a clip of him doing the perp walk in his striped jail suit, so no such luck.

Here's the Lesson:

Ladies, if you are working until after dark, it is OK to insist that your employer provide you with an escort to your car. If they won't, you raise hell until they do! Or, refuse to work after dark until escorts are provided.

You're soooo right!

Hey, next time I see a weirdo at Wallmart late at night, I'm going straight to management and say," You see that guy there? He's from the Unions up north and he's trying to talk with the employees!" ha. That should clear the parking lot quick.

Great Reminder!

How about the men ( and women ) who work at a store late night INSIST on walking out with anyone who they feel should not be walking out there alone! Some women are hesitant to ask cause they feel "Oh, I don't want to bother them." The more I think about it, the more angry I get that they insisted this girl should park her car so far away and then let her go out alone like that; not even watch her walk to the car.

Of course, it happens very quickly -- and I would not be surprised to see some copy-cat crimes now. But do you suppose there was no man available to walk this tiny thing to her car?

Thank goodness you are there to pick up your wife and to watch over the other ladies there. We need more men like you around.

I agree with your assessment. They truly should have a buddy system. And if the company does not arrange it, the employees should organize their own. They could all walk out together to one person's car and all could then be driven to their respective vehicles.

I am a lot older than 19, but there have been quite a few times in my life when I have asked a gentleman to escort me into a darkened parking lot. The ridiculous feminist doctrine of equality in all things between the sexes has set up a lot of young women for this kind of situation.

Just an update. I read this morning in the Midland paper online they confirmed she had been shot and BEATEN and they will check for sexual assault during the autopsy, which is being done in Lubbock.
I am angry all over again. He beat her up first, then killed her.

I used to work late at night. The mall would be DESOLATE. The store security would walk women to the car, and if someone didn't have a ride they gave us rides home. There are men who are still men, even in blue state New York where I live.
