WB, Ashton Kutcher Plot Reality Show (Kutcher Asks, "Dude, Where's My Movie Career?")

LOS ANGELES - Take seven brainy nerds and seven dim beauties, add Ashton Kutcher as a matchmaker and what do you get? A television reality series, of course. Kutcher, the brains behind MTV's "Punk'd," is producing the new series for the WB network this summer.

The goal of "Beauty and the Geek" is to couple seemingly mismatched pairs and see which can work best together, said David Janollari, the network's entertainment president, on Saturday.

"It's really looking at stereotypes of people and how we look at beautiful women and not-so-beautiful men," he said.

They will go through a series of competitions: combining wits on a camping trip, learning how to dance and working at a deli (the guys help the girls figure out how to make change).

I watched two episodes of Punk'd...and I thought it was a joke. It was like playing practical jokes on Ozzy or something. Unless you knew the "victum"...it really didn't carry over too well. And I will say this...Kutcher's movie future is awful limited right now...I don't see him taking off and getting major roles. His talent may be totally limited to producing shows for MTV.

It was like Candid Camera with celebrities. Some of it was funny, but certainly not brainy!

Kutcher, the brains behind...

I think they meant: "Kutcher, the brainless behind."

Yeah, what better person to come up with something that will appeal to 14 year old audience?

Did I just see "brains" and "Ashton Kutcher" in the same sentence?!?

And it was NOT "Ashton Kutcher has no brains"?

I like Ashton and have to admit I use to watch "That 70's Show". Unfortunately, his character on that show is the only note he can hit. He is kind of like the new Gomer Pyle.

After "That 70's Show" is gone (and it has already overstayed its welcome), look for Ashton to join Mario Lopez as co-host of some show on Animal Planet.
