In what The New York Times called Angola's "worst crisis" in "nearly 30 years" in December 1992, the country erupted into civil war. By January 1993, the streets were piled with thousands of dead bodies. In the prior year, hundreds of thousands had died of starvation in Somalia. Millions more were still at risk.
Also in 1993, January floods left dozens dead and thousands homeless in Tijuana, Mexico.
Russia was, according to a New York Times editorial, on the brink of disaster, facing economic circumstances like those "that helped bring forth Hitler."

It is a violation of FR posting rules to post a Coulter piece without a picture.
Geeze... We all know that already..
Well, then, get busy!
I always screw it up when I try.
OK, I found it. It was posted as "It's Our Party, You Can Cry If You Want To".
Mods remove my post if you like.

Right, since when is that news?
Thanks for the pic.
By the way, turn those helmets around. Notice any difference?
Go Falcons!
Been posted already?
Yes, but worth repeating.
Nothing new there.......
Then you have the problem with the head in the sand crowd. If they have to face facts, they start contemplating suicide. The reality of their stupidity is overwhelming.
Finally, I didn't see the first article, so thanks for posting this one.
Ya know, I'm not so sure that it was posted before. It didn't show up as titled by Pittsburgh Live.
After I posted it, I went over to Human Events and read her latest installment there. It was titled "It's our party you can cry if you want to", and just assumed that it had already been posted without doing a search. But, a search of that title shows no results either.
Anyway, I like her comments on the Oscars. In fact, I posted this the same day her piece was released on Human Events.

Democrats are hypocrites
and...whiners, losers, babies, accusers, excuse makers, blame mongers, phonies, nasties, vengeful people, bitter, hateful, jealous, fear mongers, showboaters, and all around sorelosermans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course with Ann, that's all we could ever do!
All very true.
We must be very careful, though, that just because they're wrong, it doesn't make us right.
We've got to be right, period, or rather, continue to be right. If we fall into the same trap that the Democrats did over their tenure in the House, then we'll wind up just like them.
I'm glad to see that Bush's vision is expanding. Let's support him in this, but at the same time, let's get that spending under control. Let's position ourselves so that whichever loser replaces McAwful at the DNC, we'll continue being in the right and present an obvious winner in 2008. Condi or no Condi; Hildebeast or no Hildebeast.
I work with a whinny little guy who is a die hard liberal, so is his girlfriend. The girlfriend's father is a well to do conservative. I remember that just before Christmas the fellow I work with was complaining that he and his girlfriend had to go to the father's "Christmas" party. He didn't like it because he felt it was "pushing religion." When he told me that I said to him that based on that belief he wouldn't be taking the Christmas holidays off from work since those two days also "push religion." My poor whinny liberal co-worker didn't have a clue what I was talking about.
Now ... now ... don't be like that.
I am a hopeless romantic and always root for the underdog. ;)
Roethlisberger is living a rookies dream which may well come to the end by Brady & Company.
One thing I would bet on though, is this will be one heck of a game.
The big "R-burger" looked a little Rustled last week against the Jets.
Just keep playing back in your mind the hit on Stokley from Ansante Samuel in last weeks Colt/Pats game.
Double that! Harrison has even begun to hit yet.
ROTFL!!!!!!
After I posted it, I went over to Human Events and read her latest installment there. It was titled "It's our party you can cry if you want to", and just assumed that it had already been posted without doing a search. But, a search of that title shows no results either.Bear in mind that the FR search only works with words of four letters or more. In the title "It's our party you can cry if you want to" only the words party and want can be searched on. If you search on the entire article name the search will fail. But if you search on party and want, choosing "match all words" the article will be found. Three times in fact.
Is this some sort of new revelation to you...
No. I posted as titled.
Ive known it for over thirty years now.
Indeed! It was tongue-in-cheek. : )
Oh I agree. But...no one planned on 9-11 and therefore, Iraq has been at the forefront. President Bush has certainly had a lot on his plate and has handled it gallantly. We just need more pubbies with more courage to stand tall and speak up.
