Thank you for posting an actual decription of what neoconservatism really means now, instead of conspiracy theories about the left or old defitions linking neoconservatives to former liberals.
Krauthammer is one of the best examples of a neocon, as is Wolfowitz.

Here are are some more that have been called "neo-cons":
William Safire, George Will, Bill Krystal, and Cal Thomas.

It's funny -- when I was growing up, conservatives were people who wanted to roll back Communism and liberate the captive nations. Now now......don't go confusing people around here about what conservatives USE to be.

Pronunciation tip: "Neo-Prog" rhymes with "neo-Frog."
As a group, Neo-progs include all politicians who drag out the old-timey label in this century and call themselves progressives.

The term "neo-conservative" has been used to describe that element of the GOP that once considered themselves liberal, but now call themselves "conservative" .... So I guess this means the "conservative" Kristol, Safire, Frum and Richard Perle and Asst Secy Wolfowitz, and all the "conservatives," will be at the March for Life, waving banners, and making speeches in support of overturning Roe V Wade........ as all good conservatives do.
Gosh, I can't wait to hear "conservative" Dr Krauthammer (who called The Passion of the Christ a singular act of interreligious aggression) rail against legalized abortion.......as all good conservatives do.
Oh, and don't forget that "conservative" Billy Kristol and John Kerry both called for ousting Sec Rumsfeld. That says a lot about Billy's "conservatism."

NEOCON wing???? Never happen. We have a group of NEOCONs with their own agenda that have Bush in tow. They are about as "conservative" as Kerry. Control is their agenda.

Disappeared from the American scene? They (we) are running the most powerful country in world history. And no, the speech isn't a victory for neocons. Bush being re-elected, Iraq being liberated and Saddam jailed, Afghanistan holding its first elections ever - those are victories. Bush's speech was just explaining it to the slow nitwits in the peanut gallery...

Who is towing whom? Bush is an idealist methodist who firmly believes in American exceptionalism and is acting on it. He doesn't need to be the tool of anybody or anything. He is writing the history of the world as we speak, free longhand, details to be filled in later by lesser lights and followers. If that is being led around, what counts as leading?
