The first family attended church this morning. Afterwards, the President headed to Camp David where he was to meet with his advisors to work on his State of the Union Address.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: At this second gathering, our duties are defined not by the words I use, but by the history we have seen together. For a half century, America defended our own freedom by standing watch on distant borders. After the shipwreck of communism came years of relative quiet, years of repose, years of sabbatical - and then there came a day of fire.
Some, I know, have questioned the global appeal of liberty - though this time in history, four decades defined by the swiftest advance of freedom ever seen, is an odd time for doubt. Americans, of all people, should never be surprised by the power of our ideals. Eventually, the call of freedom comes to every mind and every soul. We do not accept the existence of permanent tyranny because we do not accept the possibility of permanent slavery. Liberty will come to those who love it.
President George W. Bush, 2nd Inaugural Address, January 20, 2005
As always, please wait until the all-clear before posting other photos and images. Thanks.

Cool, baby Barney pictures! Love to see them!
This whimsical painting of Barney was painted by Michael McWillie for First Lady Laura Bush. It hangs in her office in the East Wing of The White House.
ALL: Do you see the Barney painting? If yes, I'll continue posting the remaining Barney puppy pics.
Just taking a break from the doom-and-gloomers over at the Johnny Carson thread . .. what a giant, never be another like him! God rest his soul. Maybe .. top 20??

Thanks, Wolfstar. What a cute pic of Lady Laura and the two dogs.

Hi Peach. The tagline is courtesy of another FReeper who says he's making a new bumper sticker with the line. Dang it! I've been trying to post the Barney puppy pictures for a couple of weeks, but can't figure out a way to create a URL that works. This time I tried uploading them to a Yahoo photo album, but the test image doesn't work here. Sigh.
I like the fact that his registered name is Pontefract Barney W. Bush. Very cool that they named him W after the President.
I suppose that when they knew who was going to have him that this was very fitting.
Thanks for the pics!
Did Laura go with him to Camp David?
Hope everyone had a restful day.
Good evening
Darn it...I got distracted and stopped looking for it, well at least I will be on the first page of the dose today!
Thanks wolfstar for your efforts on the weekends!
I hope there are some of Barney and Beezie!!!! (I want a puppy so badly, wheneve i see Mrs. Beazley.
I don't think so (but can't confirm for sure). It is a working session, and Yahoo News said several aides went with him or were to meet him there.
Hello homemom, I can tell you that today has been a good day, went shopping at Sam's club got about a million kleenex's...lol
Doing homework and checking the dose now...an alright day by most standards!
The ones I have of Barney as a puppy won't post correctly, so I need to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to create a URL that will let them post OK.
Hello--how are you?
Maybe the girls and her mom are still at the WH so she stayed there. I just like it when they get to get away together, even if it is for him to mostly do WH work.
Kleenexes are always needed at this house!
HOmework on Sunday night . . . oh, some days I really miss college! Our college didn't serve supper on Sunday nights, so we were on our own. We were all poor so usually went to Wendys, which was in walking distance--very few people had cars, either. Either Wendys or Ramen noodles on the (illegal) hotplate.LOL!
Oh, and we didn't have computers in our rooms either . . .
Are you enjoying this semester?
Hi, Wolfstar. I'd help but only know the most basic picture posting stuff. Thanks for trying to post the Barney pup pics.
The President's dad and mom, and Laura's mom went to church with them. So you're probably right. Laura's at the White House with family and the animals.
I am fine thanks had a quiet day cooked roast lamb, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, yorkshire pudding and cabbage for dad and me.
Peach, I'm going to try the Photobucket service. It might work. Standby...
Best of luck
Now you're making me hungry! I made my cooking list for the week and got the ingredients, but tomorrow is cooking day. Everyone has just been snacking today so supper will be leftovers or hamburgers on the George grill.
You're talking a foreign language to me :-)
I'll check in later...Mr. Peach's stomach is growling.
I must admit that I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to food on Sunday I do like the traditional Sunday roast.
Thanks for a Sunday post. What a great week this has been.
