Hey Laz- the girl in the gold dress is in the 5th from the bottom. Thought you'd like to know, lol
Very nice. Thank you.
It was a fantastic few days. I hope to see everyone again in four years.
Whichever comes first.
Oh my....I think I'm getting tipsy just lookin' at these photos! Thanks, ST13.....you look maaarralissss....
We definitely need a positive ID on Goldie!
She's in the background on pic#16 as well (the 29 year old crowd pic).
In 4 years, I'm gonna make it then.
Sixth photo from top Unidentified Freeper in the orange topped cap and the pink and green home-made and laminated posters is: Highly Opinionated.
Oh - thank you! You probably told me that when I took the pic, but I think old age is becoming evident...
Thanks so much for posting the pics. My son and I had so much fun! He said that he's coming back in 4 years and when he does he's going to the Freeper Ball--even if he has the opportunity to go to one of the "official" balls.
Great photos! Thanks for posting them. We had a great time at the Freeper Ball. And we were so proud to see Presidnet Bush sworn in.
I've added a link to your thread in my below thread.

SKUNKS AND BLUE BRACELETS AT CHECKPOINT CHARLIE
The 7th Street security checkpoint ("Checkpoint Charlie") for the inaugural parade was closest to the American Sector established by the DC Chapter of Free Republic. Waiting there, I coincidentally ended up near DC Chapter member, bmwcyle, and Flora McDonald, a Richmond-area FReeper of long-standing. As we waited in the crowd (it wasn't orderly enough to be a line), pro-Bush people mostly tried to stay quiet in the face of some leftists (maybe ten percent of the crowd) occasionally and individually shouting anti-Bush or anti-war slogans. However, numerous Bush supporters and people who just came to watch a parade would shout back every now and then.
On one occasion the crowd started singing God Bless America. The song's title has three words, each word representing a concept antithetical to many of the leftists.
I told one leftist waiting in the security line near me to "swim to Cuba, free healthcare, free education," much to the amusement of most nearby people.
You look great!
Ping for later read.
Great photos! You looked wonderful and it was so good to see you again after so long. I'm sorry we didn't get to talk longer, but very glad to see that you enjoyed the evening.
Congratulations to Arkansas Governor Huckabee, who lost quite a lot of weight since 4 years ago! And I can tell from the pictures the band was terrific!
ping for later
Thanks for these great pictures. I must say when I see the young people here - all good looking - and attending the Freepers Ball, my faith in our future is restored.
Ouch, can you identify the lurker and future lurker??? LOL!!!!
bttt for ltr
Oh, my gosh! I looked at these photos yesterday but I looked too quickly at that one obviously. Didn't even notice who the "lurker" was. Nice catch. The person on the far right looks like TQ's mother-in-law! :)
Hope you got yourselves plowed out today. You must be going stir crazy.
I realized I didn't have my small purse with me inside the ballroom. I walked back to a corner table where dh and I had been standing to see if I had left it there. It wasn't there, and I headed back toward where my husband was standing - he was holding our video camera up in the air filming and I could see the LCD screen as I moved toward him in the dark. About that time, I remembered that I had previously handed my purse to him and HE had it in his suit pocket. As I reached the area where he was standing, I tried to find it in the suit pocket, patting down one side and then the other. I looked up at him to ask where it was, and the face staring back at me was NOT my husband's.
I said, "I'm so sorry, I thought you were my husband!" to which this gentleman replied, "I thought you were my wife!"
I'm just very thankful I did not pat this gentleman on the behind. I already wanted to crawl under the dance floor and hide.
The AMERICAN SECTOR sign is AWESOME!
It sure has been a long time since we saw each other.
You look fantastic.
"...sigh...blush...." You're sweet. Missed you greatly!
Sorry to have missed the ball, but I was in the throes of moving, surrounded by chaos and turmoil.
See you at the next freep, wherever it is.....and wear that tie!
Yeh, that's Peter "LiveShot" Kessler, all right!
Looks like a good time was had by all - including the Yetti in Washington for the climate... Sorry I missed.
