Answer the questions? I wouldn't answer any questions if they showed up at a press conference, and spoke off the topic. I would simply walk away as soon as she opened her mouth off topic. The rest of the media will get tired of the 60 minutes crew shutting down press conferences.

Here are my thoughts on the subject.

CBS has got major image problems as a result of the Rathergate mess. Apparently they've yet to learn from this.

This kind of nonsense is going to continue to make it very difficult for their affiliates to regain the trust of their viewers. Millions of people have already deleted their local CBS station from their Tv sets and many radio stations have already dropped CBS News because of the Rathergate mess.

But then again I guess they'd much rather keep making the same mistakes over and over again then learn from the past mistakes.

This is pure criminal misconduct at the very worst. The mainstream media is a criminal enterpsie.

I believe it was Bill Clinton who asked "What attack has ever fed a hungry child?" in one of his debates with Bob Dole.

Yes, the woman's name was Cheryl Mills, and that's the last I heard of her. I vaguely remember the morning shows heaping praise on her after her appearance at the impeachment trial (I think). I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Bill Clinton had used it before her. She didn't even get her full fifteen minutes!

Us conservatives like to wrap ourselves in the american flag and proclaim we are "better" than that.. We decry the slimy tactics of the Dems/Libs during the election, sneering at their disrespect for law and decency..

But the flag fits us, it doesn't fit the leftists.

Seriously, the left has successfully crafted a set of standards which they say are legal, but only apply to them.

We of higher standards may take moral exception to those lower standards, but isn't what's good for the goose, sauce for the gander?

If we don't take "advantage" of the same standards the left employs we handicap ourselves the same as any sprinter who staps a 50 lb. pack to his back for every race. The real problem is unequal enforcement of the law. If the left isn't held accountable for their actions, why should anyone?

You wouldn’t have a lasting career as a politician, or anybody else (corporate spokesman, lawyer, professional head coach, etc.) who might hold a press conference.

If you don't want to answer questions from the media, don't invite them to a press conference/photo op. Just communicate with the outside world via type-written statements.

DeLay is free to walk away from any line of questioning he feels like walking away from. It just doesn't look good when he, or anybody else, does it.
