That's your excuse. There is no diocese in the world that would turn away someone who could not afford the administrative expenses of a marriage case.
Considering how many people have to be involved in one of these (at least five) you think somebody's going to get rich off $500?
If remaining a Catholic had been important to you, $500 would not have stood in the way. You just didn't want to be a Catholic any longer, did you?
This conversation will go no where. You're wrong that ALL Christians think the Bible is an evolving and changing thing that can be followed when convenient and ignored when tradition sounds better. The Trinity is taught and easily defended with the Bible. I understand you believe in tradition over the word of God. But, not everyone does, so don't paint Christians with a broad brush.
Regarding marriage, I simply stated what the Bible says. If you have a problem with God saying it's better to marry than burn with lust, take it up with Him.

Jesus did not require celibacy of his apostles. And, the Eastern Rites have NEVER required it of men who wish to be priests.
If you had to choose between the availability of the Eucharist, and a celibate priesthood, which would you choose?
Well, if it were put to a vote, the vast majority of Catholics would accept a married priesthood.

Why would you risk your eternal salvation over $500? Maybe this is not the best example because he is pro-abortion polition (and thus automatically ex-communicated), but I remember that Howard Dean left the Church over a bike trail! I think you shouldn't let your anger influence you in these matters.
Just because people in Christ's Church are worldly and sinful does not mean that the Church He founded is not the right one.
As for being all about the money, the Protestants in the Reformation seized tons of assets from the Catholic Church. It was financially lucrative to break away from Rome.
Catholics don't believe in tradition over the Bible, but believe in both equally, as they do not contradict each other. The early Christians didn't have the Bible, they only had the traditions passed down from the apostles.
It really has nothing to do with pedophilia per se. There's no reason why someone who wants to be a priest or church leader has to remain celibate other then the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Bible doesn't teach that church leaders cannot be married. Paul makes qualifications for church leaders very clear in 1Timothy 3.
I'm sure a lot of young men would want to serve as priests but don't because of the celibacy thing and that's why there's a shortage of Catholic priests. Why should they have to give up a normal married life just to serve the Lord? Can't they serve and lead a normal life with a wife and family?
We have the Bible now, and actually, Catholic tradition directly contradicts the Bible: There is no mention of separate, special "saints"- all Christians are called saints by Paul. There's no mention of "purgatory" or "limbo". No foods are forbidden. Mary is not equal with Jesus. You don't have to confess your sins to a priest, nor do you need a "saint" to intervene for you when praying to God. You don't pray to "saints". No man is sinless. There are not different "kinds" of sins (original, venial, mortal); all sins are equal in God's eyes. Mary didn't remain a virgin and needed a savior like everyone else.
The list goes on. By the way, I was raised a Roman Catholic and I also read the Bible.

So being married is itself not an impediment to being a priest. It's just that this option is only allowed for priests who were ordained in another rite and were married before converting to the Roman rite.
I don't believe a priest can truly be de-frocked, excommunicated yes, de-frocked no. When they are ordained, the Bishop presiding proclaims that they are a 'Priest forever in the order of Melchisidech(sp?)'
Its not like no longer being a bricklayer. Priests are sacramentally changed individuals.
