wasn't he rejected by rats in favor of McAwful ??

Dunno. But he was Jimmy Carter's fruitcake UN ambassador who was pro-PLO when the PLO was still untouchable by the American Left (though they were always in with the International Left) and who endorsed the destruction of western civilization. I think he's also on the far left of the current Black leadership on gay rights and such like.

Hence at my surprise at his showing more bipartisanship and moderation than the old kleagle Robert Byrd.

Who can blame them...

It sends a message to any African Americans who deviate from the party line.

Wake up and smell the double-shot, lowfat latte, Andy. As long as your group votes 90% Democrat, they don't give a crap what you think.

Don't knock this guy. He cried when he introduced Dr. Rice at an engagement I attended and told the mostly black crowd that she was the epitomy of what the marches in the south during the 50's were about. And, that people, especially black kids, would one day after all is said and done, see how great of a person she really is. It therefore does not surprise me that he would come out and support her.

I agree. O.K., Boxer is holding the NSA responsible for the Bush Admin. (and is cherry picking statements for political gain) I'll let her vote against her because she voted against the resolution. But the rest of them, (Kerry for ex.) are digging their own grave.

Not even counting the fact that the rats tapped a Klu Kluxer to lead the opposition.

It's obvious to me they are intimidated by strong, intelligent, highly qualified black women.

Good point but in my opinion, Boxer is grandstanding and could care less about any of it. She's just being a politician.
I didn't even mind the senate confirmation hearings. They should occur but make it relevant. None of the seantors asked questions that made any sense.

Thos. Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe....

... all had less knowledge about world/foreign affairs than you do.

And I bet it still won't amount to much.

The CBC will continue to do as they are told. Just like good slaves are supposed to do. These Stepin Fetchits are only talking because of the amount of exposure the position of SoS holds. It's extremely visible how Dems are treating Rice. They have to say something just to save face.

In the end, if won't mean a thing to these "leaders". Watch.

Real men don't whine.

The Democrats are self-destructing, I just heard on Brit Hume that one of the demonstrators that was arrested during the Innauguaration was a member of Reid's senate staff.

For years I have maintained that the best hope that America has for overcoming racism is the black woman. Who is the most influential woman in America outside the political field? Yep, Oprah. She has actually shaped our society in many ways. I once heard an African man talk about the roles of white versus black women. He was funny and very informative. He talked about how black women were not afraid of men. He explained how temperature played a part in shaping the way women related to men. I can't recall much of what he said, but I've never forgotten how impressed I was. Point being that Condi Rice will make a powerful SOS. No doubt in my mind.

Clarence Thomas said it best, "...a high-tech lynching for a uppity black(man)."

Waiting for the Polls to come out to figure out what the Red States are all about.

I believe we have made our point on this one! Republican conservatives are not racists. We are all Americans and Condi Rice is the best person to serve our County as Secretary of State.

IMHO, the Dems and the Black Caucus are scrambling to get on the winning side of this situation. I believe in the next four years we are going to see a revolution in the Country. We will all be Americans and there will not be an adjective associated with the word "American".

When are these folks gonna "get it"?
