JJ -- thank you. You've done excellent hard work in rooting all this out and pursuing it. Good Job!

Did he say that to Sisyphus? Or to subsequent requests?? Do you know, or maybe a link?

Yes, here is the link where Sisyphus is informed that Mr. Adams will not be releasing the tape after all:

And here is the link where Sisyphus discusses the exchange he had where you get the details of why it will never be released:

I'm watching it now

Oh .. Joe Biden was there too huh?

Here's question ... since these congresscritters were there .. wouldn't they be able to get a copy of the forum with Eason Jordan?

In other words, they lied somewhere to help cover up for Jordan. What a surprise.

Someone sure as heck doesn't want that tape to see the light of day to make up all these bogus excuses

4. Can the participants involved in the discussion agree to release the video?
MA: We would of course revisit the topic if all participants agreed for it to be released - but even then we would have to consider carefully since the rules are set for all the 'off the record' sessions - we would have to change the policy for the whole meeting - which would have much wider implications.

Call me stupid .. but they talk to an open forum and it's "off the record"

And as for the video tapes are only used for "internal" use ??? ... then why do they offer them for sale on DVD?

And and ... Why is it that ONLY the Wall Street Journal is the only print news to inquire about getting a copy of the tape?

I think Alia made a good point ... What else was said they don't want us to know about?

I think you are right.

Position pieces are coming out one by one by various attendees of the WEF in Davos. Common thread? Suck America dry. The Global bigboys are just there to ensure return on their investment AND move their lefty agenda, (to your point, Global Governance). By breaking the economic back of the US (also a goal of Bin Laden, I might add), we will at some point be forced to come begging for economic investment here in the US, so that our own have jobs. The trade off?? Third world standing, loss of sovereignty, and global control of our military to protect the business interests of a handfull of the powerful that sit at the global table. Just a thought.

Mo1: Yes it is about what all took place there -- Eason's comments only served to draw attention to it. No doubts he'll get a very nifty "severance" package for doing so.

During my analysis, in another thread, I suggested what is problem in the argument concerning MSM and independent freepers and blogger reporting sources: the furry zone: Private but with public access.

"Private but with public access" was used in both the Maryland (Steffen) and in the Gannon cases; it also applies here in re the Davos conference: Public access to view peripheral data; but members only can get the inside scoop.

You are not stupid. Attendees at the Davos conference paid $20-$30,000 to attend. And that's just what the rank and file may have paid.

Indeed you are quite astute: The tapes, IMHO, are much more revelatory. However, the organization has every right to claim that these tapes are for members only.

The reason "we" want to review the tapes? A big MSMer Eason, has said something bordering treason, and we are in a war. It is clear from digging around, his comment was NOT reviled nor was in even questioned, in the conference, wherein he said it.

Were I a liberal? I'd be at this very minute rabble-rousing Republican senators and reps to DEMAND A FORMAL WH INVESTIGATION. lol. But we don't. And I think I respect why we aren't. It's far more fun watching these Davos people move and shake, and turn their own "guaranteed investment return" agenda, into something which benefits everyone else. ;>

I sometimes wonder, recently, if this very thing isn't what is concerning the split of concern among Republicans concerning the privatizing Social Security -- what if folks decide to "invest" in the Eason/Davos "agenda" of investment supporters. Hmmm... things to think about. :)

The unsaid premise is that the global civil society will continue to grow and the USA will have to go along and will necessarily change into that. If this does not happen, the civil society theorists will write more essays.

Thanks much F/C.. sorry for the goose-chase, but really appreciate the links. I did find this comment to Sisyphus intersting though:

According to MacKinnon's blog,

http://rconversation.blogs.com/rconversation/2005/02/maybe_it_wasnt_.html

"All sessions that are broadcast or webcast are ‘on the record’ (for 2005 that means all sessions in the Congress Hall or Sanada 1 and 2)"

The comments were made in Sanada 1, which certainly seems to mean that it should be on the record.

Now, you could make the arguement that it was not actually broadcast or webcast so is not on the record. But the expectations of the participants was based on room assignments...and they were in an on the record room.

We know the comments made it in the official summary. We know there is a tape. We also know we can order it from the WEF website in a number of different languages. So, nowI wonder why even bother with Mr. Adams... ???

Drudge ran this brief item on Thursday:

http://news.stocksmart.com/ss-news/CX1496705.html

Thursday January 28, 3:04 PM (EST)

'Globalization' theme of economic forum

DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan. 28 (UPI S) _ World power brokers in government and business are gathering at a Swiss ski resort (Thursday) for four days of discussions on how to create a responsible global economy. The 29th annual World Economic Forum in Davos, while directed toward the 21st century, also is focusing on the economic upheaval in Brazil, Russia, Asia and Japan.

END OF NEWS ITEM

===============IMPORTANT===========

And BELOW is what Maurice Strong a few years ago mused can happen at these very Davos meetings. I encourage you to not only read this portion I put here but read the whole link about Maurice Strong. Scary stuff to see what rolls around in the mind of a major player.

http://turnercom.com/jdk/canal25.html

"...from an interview entitled "The Wizard Of the Baca Grande," which Maurice Strong conducted with WEST magazine of Alberta, Canada May 1990. Strong concluded the interview with a thought- provoking, apocalyptic story from a novel he says he would like to write: "Each year the World Economic Forum convenes in Davos, Switzerland. Over a thousand CEOs, prime ministers, finance ministers, and leading academics gather in February to attend meetings and set the economic agendas for the year ahead. "What if a small group of these word leaders were to conclude that the principle risk to the earth comes from the actions of the rich countries? And if the world is to survive, those rich countries would have to sign an agreement reducing their impact on the environment. Will they do it? Will the rich countries agree to reduce their impact on the environment? Will they agree to save the earth? "The group's conclusion is 'no.' The rich countries won't do it. They won't change. So, in order to save the planet, the group decides: isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?

"This group of world leaders form a secret society to bring about a world collapse. It's February. They're all at Davos. These aren't terrorists - they're world leaders. They have positioned themselves in the world's commodity and stock markets. They've engineered, using their access to stock exchanges, and computers, and gold supplies, a panic. Then they prevent the markets from closing. They jam the gears. They have mercenaries who hold the rest of the world leaders at Davros as hostage. The markets can't close. The rich countries...? and Strong makes a slight motion with his fingers as if he were flicking a cigarette butt out of the window.

I sat there spellbound. This is not *any* story-teller talking. This is Maurice Strong. He knows these world leaders. He is, in fact, co-chairman of the Council of the World Economic Forum. He sits at the fulcrum of power. He is in a position to *do it*" And he's shaping up fast to become next Secretary-General of the United Nations and, IMHO, World Chief Wackyhead. Oh, and El Supremo Grand Commander, Strategist and Director of the New World Army! But, hey, he was just *joking* about all that stuff, right? "

This whole thing is having the OilForFood scam as well-jj

I can't believe I ran across this:

Canada's global connections

(small excerpt...it's a must read)

Both Prime Minister Paul Martin and his mentor Maurice Strong, senior advisor to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, worked for Power Corp.

Martin’s immediate predecessor is former Prime Minister Jean Chretien, whose daughter, France is married to Andre Desmarais, son of Power Corp’s founding father, Paul Desmarais.

Desmarais Sr. is a major shareholder and director of TotalFinaElf, the biggest oil corporation in France, which has held tens of billions of dollars in contracts with the deposed regime of Saddam Hussein.

As Canada Free Press (CFP) revealed last week, Paul Volcker, who heads up the Independent Inquiry Commission into the oil-for-food scandal, held a seat on Power Corp’s international advisory board.

Those are some of the ties of Power Corp., oil-for-food and Fracophonie’s Land of the fleur de lis.

Power Corp. now maintains controlling interest in BertelsmannAG, Germany’s large publishing empire--bigger even than Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. [snip]

I am not following the details on this story, but if you want info on who attended I recommend reading Jay Nordlinger from NRO. He attends Davos every year and writes (lengthy) pieces on his daily experiences.

I have chosen to link his final entry as he provides links to all his previous columns on this year's event in it. I've skimmed the first one and found the last one for you guys:

In Davos, Part VI (The End)

Unfortunately he didn't attend the meeting in question but he gives his thoughts and what he heard about it.

Hi Jim, hate to bug you, but there are two summaries from the WEF in DAVOS that are worth a read if you have the time. With so much wafting out of the WEF in the last few days, it's interesting to note what was discussed relative to this medium..

Welcome to the Blogopolis

Mentions Rathergate..etc...

Hate's New Medium

Talks about those Stormfront kind of guys that cause trouble...

Thank you, cyncooper. I had seen that Jay Nordlinger had been blogging about his adventures at Davos; but I was on a different search mission, at the time. Thank you for reminding me. I just read through his blog entries. Very informative.
