The photo is clearly of a sword with a distinct hilt

Thought that, but didn't want to say it. 'Fraid I'd be accused of being a Islamaphobe. There aren't too many countries brandishing swords these days. Mostly Islamists. I would HOPE it was the sword of Spain's Angel, but who knows...
