Then he should give FR credit instead of taking credit. Drudges is well known for ripping off others work.

If that opinion was stated, It would be hard to improve on your version.

They ran to the printing presses with this negative news without verifying it, like a rookie goldminer with a handful of pyrite.

The reason FreeRepublic works so well is that we are all essentially "anonymous".

I originally came here several years ago because I heard naked women were showing up. I think I've been pretty darn patient.......

Re: But I definitely think it reveals the incredible eagerness of the MSM to report anything negative, no matter how spurious the information may be.

I'm still laughing about this, but you are correct in how this shines a light on Bias in our media today.

CBS even rewrote the piece a little, added their own graphics, without performing the smallest amount of due diligence.

From Fox News: Exclusive! Elmo, beloved star of television's Sesame Street, has apparently escaped his captors. He was found wondering aimlessly through the streets of Tikrit when he was picked up by U.S. soldiers. "He was out of it," said a sargent. "Babbling something about 'secret numbers' and the letter 't'.
(AP Photo)

Elmo was flown immediately to Ramstein, Germany where he was treated, debriefed and reunited with his long-time-companion, Cookie Monster.

Sorry, can you believe people would drop by when I'm on this hysterical thread and listening to Hannity? Geesh!

He was saying - paraphrasing - that the AP reported the capture of a GI but that it turned out to be a doll, that it was a hoax. Missed the rest because someone came by!

Don't know if he gave FR credit!

This combination shows an image, left, posted on an Iraqi militant Web site on Tuesday Feb. 1, 2005 and an image provided by toy manufacturer Dragon Models USA of an action figure named ' Cody' in a box. The Web site posted the photograph of what it claimed was a kidnapped U.S. soldier, but doubts were quickly raised about its authenticity and the U.S. military said no soldiers were missing. Dragon Models USA, said the figure in the photo resembled one of its military action figures originally produced for sale at U.S. bases in Kuwait. (AP Photo/Dragon Models USA, HO)
