There ought to be retribution for slander against our troops and aid to enemy.

I sent an email to CNN regarding Eason Jordan's remarks. This is CNN's response, in which the writer defends Jordan but repeats the allegations, although with some alteration:

Subject: Re: Report errors

Many blogs have taken Mr. Jordan's remarks out of context. Eason Jordan does not believe the U.S. military is trying to kill journalists. Mr. Jordan simply pointed out the facts: While the majority of journalists killed in Iraq have been slain at the hands of insurgents, the Pentagon has also noted that the U.S. military on occasion has killed people who turned out to be journalists. The Pentagon has apologized for those actions.

Mr. Jordan was responding to an assertion by Cong. Frank that all 63 journalist victims had been the result of "collateral damage."

The information I sent to CNN came straight from the World Economic Forum Blog, so CNN is now accusing the World Economic Forum of lying.

Shades of CBS and Dan Rather. "Eason Jordan didn't say that, but it's stull true."

Also, please note, the email I recieved has been forwarded, Subject: Re: Report errors, as the subject line clearly indicates. So I assume the email copy was prepared by one of the higher ups (Jordan himself, prhaps) for distribution to all those questioning the veracity of the story.

Did you see this UK Guardian quote from Eason Jordan?

"Actions speak louder than words. The reality is that at least 10 journalists have been killed by the US military, and according to reports I believe to be true journalists have been arrested and by US forces," Mr Jordan told an audience of news executives at the News Xchange conference in Portugal.

" Wouldn't that be a crime?"

No... All enemies, foreign or domestic. That's the oath.
