Well now that the government has been ORDERED to give up records, "concerning the treatment of prisoners", at GITMO, we should turn them over...The ACLU is going to be sorely surprised when all they get back are a box full of top secret and classified "records" with solidly "blacked out" pages due to "national security" sensoring!! LOL!
That's---censoring, by the way.
<< I guess the CIA is supposed to give these terrorists a back massage and a handjob, to get them to "give up the goods?" >>
that a United States of American "judge" [But a bloody lawyer, after all, with a politician for a "friend"] would presume to insert himself, in time of war, above both the President and the United States Constitution reeks of a combination of Billy-Bubba-Blythe-the-Three-esque moral and intellectual vacuousness and arrogance.
Not too surprising, I guess, as I believe America's worst-ever occupant of the office usually reserved for our Presidents and his co-defendent/spouse nominated this subversive bastard to the bench.
What a hateful bunch they are.
Hear, Hear!
Does this also mean that We can file a FIOA against the ACLU to see their files??
Actually .. I'd be more interested in seeing their accounting books
ALVIN K. HELLERSTEIN United States District Judge
AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION, ET AL. V. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, ET AL.
(February 2, 2005)
A federal judge rules that the CIA must comply with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by turning over records sought by the ACLU regarding the the treatment of Detainees in United States custody, their death[s], and their rendition to countries known to employ torture, and that there is no investigation exception that could excuse the CIAs compliance.

THE PRESIDENT NOMINATES ALVIN K. HELLERSTEIN TO THE FEDERAL BENCH
The President today nominated Alvin K. Hellerstein to serve as a United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York.
Alvin Hellerstein, of New York City, received his undergraduate degree in 1954, and his LL.B. in 1956, from Columbia University. Following law school, Mr. Hellerstein served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edmund L. Palmieri of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York from 1956 to 1957. He then served in the United States Army, Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1957 to 1960. Since 1960, Mr. Hellerstein has been an associate and partner with the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan.
This WILL be fought in court, I hope.
