I really hope there isn't much attention brought to the ink stained finger. That symbolism for struggle of oppressed people that wish to be free belongs to the Iraqis. If too much is made out of it, it will become another "Mission Accomplished" or band-aid purple heart situation.

I really hope there isn't much attention brought to the ink stained finger. I said the same thing earlier.
It's one thing if a bunch of citizens paint their fingers tomorrow in a sign of solidarity. I think that might be kind of cool.
And it would be wonderful to see an Iraqi in the audience hold up her finger. But if Congress tries it, they'll just look like they're trying to hog some of the limelight earned by the courageous Iraqis. It's liable to backfire.

Hmmm - I think it'd be be just grand for us to show solidarity with them - and we (the US) did have a lot to do with them getting the vote - lots of military and familes, many giving the ultimate...
But I'll clobber any lib who shows a blue finger
