Teresa Heinz," chairwoman of Heinz Family Philanthropies and, up until Election Day, the highly visible better half of Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry.

She's the better half?

About 30 days before Warner files to run for either the Senate or the President.

How much longer until Kaine's wife starts going by her married name?

She was born Maria Teresa Thierstein Simoes-Ferreira.

So, unless she's changed her name previously, she must now be Maria Teresa Thierstein Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry. If nothing else, she gives the old "i before e except after c" rule of thumb a real bashing: one out of four.

But what's really bizarre to me (if this story is true) is her choice to revert not to her maiden name, but to her previous husband's name.

Will she switch back to Kerry in '08?

I don't think I knew that she didn't.

But they'll want to make sure they have the "Holton" name out there. You know "Republican" Governor Holton's daughter...

I love it when they've written their response to the president, probably long before they read his speech.

Groucho had it pegged long ago:

I don't know what they have to say,
it makes no difference anyway -
whatever it is, I'm against it!
No matter what it is or who commenced it,
I'm against it!

Your proposition may be good,
but let's have one thing understood -
whatever it is, I'm against it!
And even when you've changed it or condensed it,
I'm against it!

I'm opposed to it.
On general principles I'm opposed to it.

For months before my son was born,
I used to yell from night to morn -
"Whatever it is, I'm against it!"
And I've kept yelling since I first commenced it,
"I'm against it!"

They'll never get divorced. Spouses can't testify against one another.

Her legal last name never was Kerry. She just "allowed" the campaign and press to use if while campaigning. These people are always phony liars.

God, Pelosi looked about as ugly a person as you could possibly be. I mean, she is probably an attractive person...any other time...but the meanness was transmitted to her facial expressions. These democrats are completely losing it.

I love it when they've written their response to the president, probably long before they read his speech.

nikos

I agree with your observations except for the fact that Pelosi had no facial expressions lastnight during her little speech. Botox must have taken care of that. It was the strangest thing I have ever seen.

"time for John to start looking for a new filthy rich widow"

Is that why him and Pelosi were so close yesterday? O'Johnny making his move?

Life just isn't fair. He should've had to choose between being a billionaire's boy-toy and President of the USofA?

So she goes back to her dead husbands name. Hahaha. I used to feel sorry for her that her husband died and she got stuck with Snidely Whiplash. Now I think they deserve each other.

They insult their husbands and their mothers by refusing to be "dominated" by a man to the extent of doing him the honor of taking his last name, as generations of women have done before them.

I have told my boys to steer clear of any woman with that particular personality deficit; that particular attitude problem does NOT bode well for a successful long term relationship. I told them to find a woman who wants to be a woman.
