If New York had any stricter gun control laws, it would truly be a Communist Republic. Wait, it already is...

What REALLY pisses me off about my own home state are the suburban RINOs who always say "only the police should have guns."

There are just sooooo many things wrong with this. More gun control is NOT one of them

Gun Control isn't about GUNS

no nonsense support of the right to keep and bear arms

It's about CONTROL

Not to mention the fact that with legal concealed carry, the murderer may have never attempted...

Yep. If only liberals would look at what is now happening to all defenseless victims in Great Britain. No guns, owned by law abiding citizens, means perps can rob, kill, and rape without fear of immediate retribution. Gun crimes went up, not down and victims are everywhere, including in their own homes without any protection -- except to call a bobby who shows up with a whistle.

"... DuFresne ... said she hopes her daughter's death will convince people to think more seriously about enacting stronger gun-control laws..."

It's long past time for laws to be enacted to remove weapons from the hands of criminals. </sarcasm>

DuFresne, who spoke from her home in Minnesota, said she hopes her daughter's death will convince people to think more seriously about enacting stronger gun-control laws.

With all due respect to this grieving mother, she is a flaming @sshole. If New York City's gun-control laws couldn't stop this murder, then nothing will.

If only the quasi-humanoid mutants had attacked her daughter with a cigarette . . . they'd be lucky to survive their ordeal in the NYC criminal justice system.

Maybe we need stronger child control laws.

It takes a village, don't you know?

The article title made me think that LA was erecting a memorial to one of OJ's [alleged] victims.

Funny, I thought Ms. Kidman had some plastic surgery.

Deep inside these people think affluent whites deserve to be shot by poor, marginalized blacks.

Judging from this "mother's" comments, it sounds, pure and simple, as Darwinism at work...

Different situation but a couple of weeks ago M. Savage was talking about, IIRC, the death of a young female who went to Africa (some time ago) to help the people there. She was slaughtered and her parents basically excused the killers.

Her daughter might be alive if she had a gun.

She declawed her own children with her fear of arms, and wants to infect the rest of us with that same weakness. For shame on that woman!

It is horrible what happened to Nicole Dufresne but all comments I have read and heard from her friends and now mother blame everyone but the shooter.

Yeah. Bunch of liberal whack jobs. I'm suddenly very tired of the story.

Women have to walk ten deep together in the townships. Amy Biehl was FOOLISH. Not even christian ministers go by themselves unaccompanied and UNARMED.

Not to mention the fact that with legal concealed carry, the murderer may have never attempted to mug with impunity in the first place!!

I ask this question in all seriesness: NYC has the lowest homicide rate by far of any big city in the United States despite having perhaps the strictest gun control laws in the Country. Are there any big cities in which concealed carry is allowed and if so, what is the homicide rate in those cities as compared to NYC?

BTW, outside of NYC obtaining a concealed carry permit is not all that difficult if your're a law abiding citizen. I've gone to courthouses in some of the more rural counties where one of the first signs you see is "Please Check Your Firearm With Court Security." Also, with a carry permit, I can go into any bar or restaurant outside of NYC with a concealed firearm, as long as the owner of the place doesn't object, which is more than I can say for some of the places I've been to in Texas. I've been to some roadhouses up in the Catskill Mountains where they probably wouldn't let you in unless you were carrying concealed or open on the hip.
