The residents of a small Iraqi village have killed five insurgents who had attacked them for voting in last weekend's national elections.Several other insurgents were also wounded.
The insurgents raided the village of al-Mudhiryah south of Baghdad after warning its inhabitants not to vote in the election.
The villagers fought back, killing five of the insurgents and wounding eight others.
The insurgents' cars were then set alight.
Al-Mudhiryah's tribal sheikh says his people are sick of being threatened by Islamic extremists.
Is this any way to run a quagmire?
YES! The Iraqis are developing a love of country and a revulsion to terrorism.

I had hopes that this would happen after hearing about the Iraqis who pulled terrorists from their "ambulance" where they had been lobbing greanades at voters. They beat the snot out of the young punks and handed them over to the authorities--according to amanpour.
Now, if they will just have the courage and confidence in the US and their own military to inform the Terrorists are done for.
The end is near.
But how can this be? Mikey Moore and the other leftie quislings assured us that the Iraqi Resistance are freedom fighters and Minutemen, and that they will win.

Iraqi village takes up arms against insurgents, killing five
MAHMUDIYAH, Iraq, Feb 3 (AFP) - Inhabitants of an Iraqi village killed five insurgents who attacked them for taking part in the country's historic election, police said Thursday.
The insurgents launched the raid after earlier warning the inhabitants of Al-Mudhiryah, south of Baghdad, against taking part in Sunday's vote, said a police captain who requested anonymity.
Another eight insurgents and three villagers from the same tribe were wounded in the clashes late Wednesday, said the police official. Eight cars belonging to the attackers were set ablaze.
The village, which is near Mahmudiyah in Babel province, is made up of Sunni and Shiite Muslims.
"We call on the government to intervene to stop the Salafists who have been threatening our country," tribal leader Sheikh Abu Mohammed told AFP, referring to Sunni hardliners.

Apparently both that knucklehead and Ted need to read a bit more. There have been countless stories of Iraqis murdered while on patrol in their national guard, or killed while waiting to sign up to join the military. Military officers and police captains have been captured, tortured, and dismembered. Their families have been killed. And just today was the story about the 3 killed Marines. But if you read a bit farther....
Sunni insurgents unleashed a wave of attacks, killing at least 30 people, including three U.S. Marines and a dozen Iraqi army recruits.

Thanks. This is a very ggod sign. There are far fewer insurgents than Iraqis. One the majority realizes they have the power to fight back, it will be over quickly. The leftwing Saddam sucking scum will have nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
