"Recognize that in the future vehicles will be self-guided and tied (linked, for traffic control and collision avoidance) together seamlessly, facilitating the even, smooth and effortless flow of traffic!"

That's hilarious!

"My first reaction was the hammer, but i like your idea better."

Try it once in a while. Less energy consumption and swear words. And efficient. Don't deny me my swear words at work to get accomplishment where an "A" personality needs invoking. I am ex-military you know. I just nudge things along the best way I can...

"Remember daytime running lights?"

I like 'em. It was a great idea. I knew the guy who came up with that idea as well as the high mounted brake light.

You can have them. I hate seeing cars in broad daylight with headlights burning, and I promised myself I'd never own one that did.

Apparently, lots of people agree with me since DRLs seem to have gone out of style.

Going out on a limb here but I think because the car is not the accused.........

Don't like it but it sure isn't a 5th amendment issue and is certainly admissible even if you make them get a warrant first to collect the data.

No different than having running lights on boats or aircraft or motorcycles. I've never had anyone pull out in front of me since I got a car with them.

Your car is most likely recording things about your driving and that information can be used against you if you have a traffic accident.

I think I can safely say: "NO."

Funny thing about my example with the word "brite" in a thread about IQ: I metioned an error in the comment but didn't cite the exact word; the poster knew not to what I was referring and sarcastically called me "Mr.Mensa"!

We bought a Ford Explorer last May and one day driving on the toll road here in So. Orange County, CA I drove up to pay my toll since I don't have FasTrac on my car. The attendant asked me if I wanted it charged to my transponder. I replied that I didn't have one and she said that her equipment was picking up that I did. I told my DH about it and we figured it was the "black box." Not sure what I can do about it...

And if you get in a crash none of the safety systems it controls will operate. An accident you may have easily survived may end in your death instead.

I think that I may have my DH dismantle it as posted here...he's handy with stuff like that...there's no law that says I can't, right?

The impression I'm getting is that they're integrated with other systems; if you disable it the car won't work, particulalrly late models.

I say take a hammer to it since you own it with the car

and watch out where your head is, as this will deploy the airbags

Of course the air bags won't work when it's switched off but you can switch it off after the fact. ;

After the fact is too late, McGiver
