You left out another attempt by the ACLU to remove any symbols of Christianity from the public square. Los Angeles County has a small cross on the County Seal. The cross is a historical reminder to recognize that Los Angeles was founded by Christian missionaries. The cross has been on the County Seal for nearly 50 years.
The ACLU sent a letter to the County Board of Supervisors threatening litigation if the cross wasn't removed from the County Seal. There are five members of the County Board of Supervisors. Two are Republican and three are Democrats. The two Republican members of the Board voted to challenge the ACLU, the three Democrats folded and by a three to two vote agreed to remove the cross.
There is no way anyone in their right mind can consider that a cross on the Los Angeles County Seal in any way violates the letter or the spirit of the First Amendment.
We asked the Board of Supervisors to put it to a vote of the people, which they rejected three to two. One of the Democrats is a latina, and her community is strongly opposed to the removal of the cross.
In any event, we are circulating petitions in Los Angeles County. If we get 365,000 signatures the Board will be forced to retain the present seal (with the cross).
We are running out of time. The deadline for having the signatures is March 1st. We have close to 200,000 and need to get the balance in the next few weeks.

We should start by looking at where these communist thugs get their money.
A huge chunk of it comes from us, the taxpayer. When the ACLU sues a school, city, etc and wins they are compensated with public funds. In other words... we are paying them to shaft us.
Studying Genesis as a mythological-religious text in history class would draw no protest from me. Presenting Adam & Eve/Noah's Flood as actual historical events would.
