Maybe he was sick after throwing those 2 INT's near the goal line!
To: West Coast Conservative
Typical....offering an excuse for his performance.
Wonder how the backup quarterback felt sitting on his butt while McNabb was playing while not 100%.

At the time Rush said it, he was correct. After all, it was Eagles fans rumbling about trading him. Since then, however, McNabb has definitely been much more than mediocre.

Neither of us have depth at QB. Rohan Davey sucks.

Well, McNabb should be proud that he accomplish a "first." He was the first Black quarterback to LOSE a Super Bowl!

Or how about Tom Brady having a 104 degree fever the night before the AFC Championship game against the Steelers then going out the next day and simply decimating them? That's the difference between a winner and loser.

This is being used as justification for the Eagles deliberate style of play in the fourth quarter.
To: West Coast Conservative
The night before the AFC Championship game in Pittsburg tom Brady had a 103 temperature and a IV in his arm.

Another excuse, like last year and his rib injury.

This is an incredibly lame excuse. There were guys out there playing in pain that would make most of us pass out. He had a bad game, end of story. Making up "the-dog-ate-my-homework" excuses just makes him look worse.
To: GSWarrior
Yes, well I guess they need some sort of excuse for their inexplicable decisions in the last five minutes of the game.

Couldn't help but laugh at that. I shouldn't have but I coudln't help it.

In game 5 of the 1997 finals, Michael Jordan was so sick with a stomach virus that he was being rehydrated on the bench with an IV at breaks. All Jordan did in that game was to score 38 points, including the decisive three-pointer with 25 seconds left. Those that want it bad enough come through when necessary, sick or no. True enough, and more recently the Brady of the Pats reportedly had a 103 degree fever and required IVs the night before the Pittsburgh game, I think it was. He came out the next day and got 'er done.
And I agree with the poster that said that McNabb's illness might have been football related.
Bottom line for me is that two good teams faced off last Sunday and on that day the Pats were 3 points better than the Eagles. That's really all you can say and all you should say. The rest is just... well Monday morning quarterbacking. There's a lot of woulda, coulda, shouldas to go around but all that matters is the final score. That's it.

Steve McNair's Titans lost to the Rams.
