It has been a rough ten days for Senator John Kerry.
First Democratic Party moneybags George Soros said Kerrys name on the Presidential ballot was a dead loser. Then Teresa Heinz Kerry decided to borrow a dead winners rather than a live losers last name, reverting to Teresa Heinz for public appearances. But the worst day Kerry had was a Sunday answering Tim Russerts questions on Meet the Press on --- (what else?) ----Vietnam.

And the best news: Howard Dean, who lost to Kerry and Edwards in the primaries will lead the DNC! Talking about total implosion in the DemRATS rank and file!
To: johnny7
And we'll still be waiting for Kerry to sign that 180 in 2008. That's the only sure thing you can count on Kerry for.

Talking about total implosion in the DemRATS rank and file! It's a beautiful sight, isn't it? Now if only we can witness the same in Washington State, where the RATS are still clinging desperately to power by hook or by crook (mostly by crook)....

Imagine if Bush played this kerry game on his 180? CBS etal would be harping on it 3-4 times a day.

That was just a Freudian psycho-slip.
He was really referring to the crushing defeat A*BUSH handed him in 2004 but his ego has transformed it into a delusional "war story".

If Kerry was elected, those elections in Iraq would never had gone off as well as they did. Right now, the MSM would be talking about the planeloads of G.I.'s coming home bewildered as to why we went there.
The military would have recieved the blame along with Bush... and Dan Rather would be squealing with joy!

After he has a chance to destroy or delete any records that may still be around. And Kerry is dumb enough to whitewash his record too much. Tales of bravery in courage in Cambodia, rescuing troops from a burning helicopter near Da Nang, singlehandedly fighting off company strength VC and preventing rogue soldiers from killing a Vietnamese family's water buffalo, will all be passed around by the pundits. Sheesh, Kerry just wont accept the fact that he is a boob in the public's eye. But is own arrogance and inflated sense of self importance blinds him to that fact..

Talking about total implosion in the DemRATS rank and file!
Maybe, maybe not. Considering how close Kerry, a candidate with little substance, basing most of his whole campaign on 4 months in Vietnam 35 years ago and even admitting questionability about some of his medals, came to getting elected anyway. Had the OBL tape not surfaced and reminded enough independents that terrorism was still a real threat, Kerry was on his way to winning.
Regardless of the seeming disarray in the Dem Party, whomever they nominate (quite possibly Hillary) for '08, will automatically get 42-45% of the vote and will only have to earn a few additional points to win the White House. So far, none of the Pubbie names circulating could win.
[Pubs could be in serious trouble for '08. The Dems ran '04 on ABB (anyone but Bush) and almost won. The Pubs could be running ABC (anyone but hClinton), and they could nominate a throw-away).]

...maybe not.And here lies the rub.
If the MSM continues to hide their implosion... it never happened! Plain & simple. You're right about Hillary and the amount of 'undemanding' voters out there too.
Kerry did amazingly well for what he was... an anti-war, pro-abortion bore from a socialist state. I suggest to all here not to get carried away with euphoria... because opinions here in no way reflects anything coming out of the nightly news.

You are trying to mix apples and bricks. Rush, is that you? [Rush always whines about Independents, too.]
Well, I hate to disturb your reality, but Independents do exist. They are the ones who don't drink the Party cool-aid.
There is more to the political landscape than Democrats and Republicans, in the same respect that the world is more than black-and-white. Just because all you can see are 2 parties (political philosophies) does not mean others cannot and do not exist. They do exist.
As to the last part of your statement, being Independent does NOT mean someone 'does not' know who they will vote for. Independent means they vote for the person they think best suited, regardless of party affiliation. Big distinction.
Go ahead, refill your glass, have a drink. What flavor is your cool-aid?

You make a very good point. The independents have a profound effect, though not always direct, on the outcome of the election. Look at the Nader effect on the 2000 Presidential election. Also, Perot had a huge effect on getting Clinton in the White House, though I'm sure that wasn't his goal.
To: TomGuy
Anyone who would vote for the present line of democrats has a problem with patriotism and commonsense. Pres. Bush said it: you're either for America or against America. The only democrat I've seen recently who is for America is Zell Miller, Senator from Georgia who spoke at the Republican Convention and is now retired. Forget this Independent stuff. You're either for or against. No fence sitting. I also think most people understand that, which is the reason W was re-elected.

In many states they cannot participate in the primary system and are willing to leave that decision to others.....nothing admirable about that.
