I saw them in NYC about six years ago or so, when they performed Quadrophenia in its entirety. It was great. Odd special guest moment too, when Billy Idol and Gary Glitter (pre child molestation arrest) came out and sang the Punk and the Godfather parts.
It was the most homogenized crowd I’ve ever seen in one place! 20,000 white guys in their thirties and forties, back in high school for a night. You should have heard us scream, in unision, the line following “Her fella’s gonna kill me…”!
The encore was an all acoustic hour and half of the other hits (Magic Bus, Baba O’Reilly, My Generation, etc.)
